A great kit, from where I sit.
Now Iâm no drummer, by any means. This kit, though, fills a spot for me that extends all the way back to my childhood. Back then, in the 80s, the only options seemed to be a crummy electric kit with fake drum sounds or a traditional kit. Neither of which my parents would have ever bought for the ensuing noise fest and therapy that surely would have followed. Fast forward many years and the Sears catalog has progressed to the Amazon experience. I did a little research on this kit, not extensive, but enough to feel good about my purchase. For the money this kit felt like a great start for this beginning drummer.The AssemblyPutting this thing together does take a little bit of time and the instructions are not crystal clear. If you pay close attention to the photos and endure a bit of trial and error, youâll get it together. It took me about an hour. Most of the time was spent figuring out which part of the frame goes where and ensuring that the ends of each piece slot in correctly. Be sure to loosen brackets as you go so that each piece will slide in easily. Tighten things up and youâre on your way.The TrialAgain, Iâm no drummer, which was clearly evident in my initial attempts to play along with Dave Grohl tracks. Note: Probably not the guy to try and keep up with right out of the gate. That all being said, the kit sounds great, I think. There are about 10 different combinations of kits creating plenty of sounds for me to play around with. The base sounds real, snare, crash and high hat. Pretty cool. Everything is adjustable, like a real kit, to fit where you want things. Just takes some messing around for it to feel right. Kind of like finding that sweet spot in a new car seat. The cymbals were a bit quiet relative to everything else and plugging in your iPhone to play along via the auxiliary jack is cool, but the sound quality isnât great from the iPhone. I plan to solve that by just playing through a stereo. Then adjusting the drum volume to the optimum level to both play along while still hearing the song. I have not yet toyed with all the settings, but will over the next few days weeks, actually reading the manual- novel idea.OverallOverall, Iâm really happy with this kit so far, albeit just a few days. Itâs sturdy feeling, enough so that I feel I can beat up on it a bit. It can be folded up a bit to be tucked against the wall. Itâs fun and relatively intuitive. Most of all, Iâve got my first kit many long years after pining over lesser options from a tattered Sears catalog back in the 80s.

Basic, but top notch basic.
I record using this kit. The kick takes a little getting used to, especially with a double bass lick on that single pedal. I like that i can hook my phone into it and play along with drumless tracks on YouTube. It hooks up to my board and has a consistent signal with no hum or noise. The mesh heads are interesting but easy to get accustom to. They’re snappy and bouncy like an acoustic set. There’s not a ton of kit options and a couple are useless imho, but the few that are good, sound really natural during recording. Overall a good deal for the money and pack away nicely when not in use.

Great hardware, lackluster software
The drums went together easily. It took about an hour to get everything set up and plugged in. I bought this kit for use with Clone Hero, so I was rather disappointed when the $300 kit didn’t come with a MIDI cable.The built in software does have some good features for practice and warming up, but it sounds like an old 2000s, cheap keyboard, and there are only 10 sound kits to choose from. No more sounds can be loaded onto the kit.All that being said, the drum heads are small, but they feel really nice to play on. The mesh surface provides good feedback. The pedals aren’t great, and I’m sure if you really pound on them, they won’t last long. I’m going to look into adding a shock absorber, as the sound of plastic striking plastic doesn’t sound good.They also don’t fold like the description states. You can loosen some bolts, and move some pieces around easily like you’re folding them, but I think for them to be “folding” they have to have a folded state and unfolded state. With these, you just loosen some bolts and slide the kit around until it fits where you need it. As a beginner, there’s no way I’m doing that. Once you get your kit dialed in, messing up your arrangement isn’t very appealing.Great entry level E-kit, all in all.

Yeah, itâs not an acoustic kit, but it is a quality product with outstanding value. Just what I was looking for because of limited space (too crowded with an acoustic kit). The hardest part to get used to is the Kick and Hi-Hat pedals (compared to acoustic kits). Other than that, itâs full speed ahead and an excellent kit for beginners.

Bought to use for rock band 🙂
I got this and a roll limitless adapter along with a usb hub and wired controller to be able to play rock band again with the family. The original drum kit was made of cheap plastic and over time no longer registered hits in the game. This is well made and should last until we retire from playing. Can also be a gateway to actually playing drums and is a good starter kit for that purpose too.

It’s small and cymbals are too quiet
This kit is really easy to setup and is small enough for a confined space, but it’s almost too small. It does have a lot of adjustments to make it work, but this kit is really for kids which is fine because that’s who I bought it for. My main issue and the reason for the 3 stars is that the cymbals are so quiet that you can hardly hear them over the toms and the snare drum. The balance between how hard you need to hit the cymbals to hear over the drums is substantial. I have read about a resistor that can be installed into the cymbals that will balance things out and I will try that. It’s a 4.7 kohm resistor that’s soldered into the hats and there’s a good tutorial on ifixit if anyone has the same issue. I’ll update this review once I’ve tried it.For those looking at this kit, I would personally just get the Nitro mesh or Nitro pro as those kits have full sensitivity and sound adjustment for each piece through the module. Had I done a little more research I’d have just gotten the Nitro for $100 more.Overall the kit is simple to use and works for learning as well I have had no issues with the reliability, but it’s only just been opened so we’ll see how it goes. I guess for the price it’s a good learning kit, but could be just a bit better.

I bought this for my daughter. It did take a bit of time setting up and getting all the various bars connected and tightened properly took a bit of time. But it was all easy enough and required a bit of patience connecting all the pieces.But the quality and the easy to follow instructions were excellent. If you are looking to start out on drums, this is a great compact little electronic drum kit that provides good quality sounds. The month supplied access to lessons is actually also quite good and after playing around a bit, got it working on an iPad.I did try this on a Windows 10 laptop using a USB cable, but this didn’t work very well and got a little frustrated trying to get the kit to be recognised on the laptop. But the moment I connected this to an iPad, it worked straight away.So I would recommend this to anyone looking to not break the bank account and wanting to get started with playing drums with some easy to start lessons.
