Quite a nimble gimbal!
This gimbal is quite effective. Of course, results vary depending on what action camera you own, so I’d like to mention that this review is coming from someone that does not own a fancy GoPro worth hundreds of dollars but rather a “budget” action camera under $100. I’d say that it does elevate the stabilization of my action camera to make it look more like a GoPro’s, in fact, in some situations, it’s even better. You’d want this stabilizer for shots with movements that require a large range of motion. For that, it’s wonderful. Battery life is great, and the interface (controls) of this stabilizer are intuitive. It comes with a case, so that’s nice as well. Is it worth for you if you only own a budget action camera though? I’d say no, and I’d rather use that money to get something else such as a GoPro and not an action camera from an “alphabet soup brand” that’s not as good. Save your cash, get something better, and only then would you get yourself a stabilizer such as this.In Summary…Pros:⢠Intuitive control interface (rather simple, I like simple)⢠Good stabilization⢠keeps action camera well secured ⢠Compatible with other action camera brands other than GoPro and DJI⢠Includes a case! I attached it to a tripod and it was very helpful for me to get some really cool Time-lapse videos. So now that I have the I study pro for for GoPro cameras, I find the same usefulness from it.The app is designed quite well and the build quality of the stabilizer seems good. Stabilizers from five or six years ago were much more bulky and I really like the fact that this stabilizer is more sleek and not nearly as heavy as the older models.The included case is very protective and of good quality. I think this three axis gimbal stabilizer is a good value.

Comes in a nice storage case that is rigid so it is protective. Works great with my DJI OSMO Action Camera that I bought last year. It comes with a mini desktop tripod stand using the standard 1/4″ 20 that screws into the bottom of steady pro as well as the same mount on the side giving you flexible mounting options. DJI’s image stabilization that is already built in is one of the best in the industry; this gimbal stabilizer capitalizes on that, providing a very effective control on the larger movements, while the cameras image stabilization controls the finer movements, and takes it even a step further, as well as providing additional features. The most salient features are that it is a power storage device, a convenient handle, and even has a built-in remote control. The package also includes 3 USB cables that will suit the needs of most all types of USB connections you have or the camera needs.Some usage specifics: Side lights indicate how much power you have left. A little LED light in the upper right indicates when it is connected to the Hohem app. On the left side are lights to indicate the mode chosen. The joy stick which is a round movable button in the middle which gives you control on moving the gimbal around. The power button does triple duty as a power, and shutter button.In addition to the USB-C connector on it, it also has a USB-A port for charging for example your cell phone. The side lights indicate how much power you have left. Remove the rubber cover on the side to expose the USB-C charging cable, as well as a USB-A outlet for charging other devices, or for a backup power supply to your Go Pro or DJI Osmo Action cam etc. The trigger button on the back which recenters the Gimbal, or allows you to enter sport mode for quick movements.In the mounting area to your camera there is a little button that enables you to pair it to your camera, plus a power supply button that the multifarious cables supplied for different types of cameras plug into.I would judge the overall quality of the components to be very good. It also acts as a remote control for your camera giving you one handed access to essential functions. You can also use the “Hohem Gimbal” app for remote control using your cell phone. This is especially useful when using the tripod mount, eliminating the stop and go function having to not touch the camera or the stabilizer. Overall, this sits in a very nice spot as far as build quality, and function are concerned. Highly recommended.
