Better than Kasa
These are similar to the old Kasa KL-130 bulb, but add several cool new features. For instance, there is now a “party mode” that can use your phone’s microphone to make a light show with your bulbs, or the bulbs can just cycle between several colors on their own.They also updated the sunset and sunrise times to allow up to 5 hours before or after instead of only 59 minutes. You can set your lights to turn on or off up to 5 hours and 59 minutes before or after sunrise or sunset, so you have lot’s of flexibility.The old KL-130 bulbs had an “away” mode, but they took it away when they made the switch to the Tapo app. The away mode is available from the main screen on these Tapo lights. When set to Away Mode, these lights will randomly turn on and off making it appear like you are home when you are away.The fade feature has also changed. The Kasa KL-130 can be set to fade up to 60 minutes. This Tapo light can only be set to fade up to 30 minutes. That being said, the ‘fade’ on the original light was stepped, so around every few seconds it would get brighter or dimmer and you would noticeably see it ‘step’. The Tapo light does this much more smoothly.The pairing feature also seemed different to me although it’s been a long time since I’ve set up the KL-130. I’m pretty sure those used Bluetooth for setup, and these use Wi-Fi instead, and that’s where people are probably going to have the most trouble. During the pairing process, it will ask you to pair your phone with the light. If you have a phone like my Pixel 7, you will need to turn off your cellular network connection while doing this, or the phone won’t pair to the light and setup will fail. They are also only 2.4Ghz, which can also cause people issues if they have newer phones. This is kind of a bad setup experience, but for me it was no big deal. That being said, I wouldn’t buy these for someone else unless I was prepared to help them set them up.Overall, the light color and brightness is indistinguishable from the older KL-130 bulb to my eyes regardless of the color setting, so I’m not replacing all of my old bulbs just yet.

These bulbs are outstanding
I bought the four pack of these. I had already had a couple of them already, and I love the features of them and the ease of use. So I bought the four pack. They all worked perfectly and set up in under five minutes. The build qualities excellent the color selection is awesome and you can tailor it to any color you want. For Christmas we had them as red and green and then switch them back to normal color once Christmas was over. just an outstanding product from TP link

Really Good Bulb but High Pitch Noise Is a Nuisance
The GoodI donât regret purchase, price is reasonable & they function very well, I have had 1 set over a year. I have bought a couple boxes, programing was fairly easy for me, about 10 minutes to do all 4, bulbs are really bright and colors are very versatile, the app works really well and easy to integrate with Alexa.The BadThe only issue is that when lights are off but power is there or about 60percent light , they emit a high pitch ringing noise, itâs not terribly annoying but I can hear it, my wife doesnât, itâs not loud enough to deter me from buying more but I never had that issue with Philip hue bulbs that are way more expensive.

Works as advertised
I read all reviews and decided to purchase a 4 pack. I am glad I did: not using Alexia or any voice system, just and application. The 2 smart bulbs I am using work as advertised and is nice to have programmable lighting especially when returning home late night and lighting is relaxing after a tension filled workday/night. I have had no connections issues as some reviewer’s state.One thing to keep in mind is to keep the light switch turned on and use the app to turn off. Otherwise, there is an indication that the bulb cannot be connected since it uses home Wi-Fi for control.I recommend this item and will purchase for friends and family I think would appreciate its functions.

Don’t Count on the 2 Year Warranty
1 of the 4 bulbs I purchased blew after just 9 months. At first I thought, “at least they have a 2 year warranty,” but nope….TP-Link wanted me to jump through hoops to get a replacement bulb. Pictured is just one of the emails they sent me after I filed my claim online (which included a picture of the visibly burnt out light bulb). They wanted me to send me a 2 pack of bulbs and then for me to send them back one of my working bulbs….apparently so I wouldn’t end up with an extra bulb. They were also going to place a $15 hold on my cc, to ensure that they received the working bulb back. I found this utterly ridiculous (what were they going to do with my working bulb???) and told the agents that they could honor the warranty and send me 1 bulb (or more if they were incapable of sending me just 1) or forget it. I’d rather buy new bulbs from another company then deal with such a cheap business like TP-Link. Most companies jump at the chance to send you a replacement part/item, but not TP-Link. They can’t afford to give a customer a bonus light bulb after their product failed 15 months before the warranty expired. I’ll never be buying from TP-Link again. Shameful business practices.

Ma première ampoule connecté.Pas très compliqué à installer, après l’ installations peut être partagé sur Google Home avec malgré tous un peu moins d’option que sur l’ application d’origine comme la programmation.Ont peut changer à volonté la couleur de l’ ampoule, sont intensité lumineuse.J’ aime particulière le mode ABSENT, très pratique lorsque vous voulez partir, l’ ampoule connecté s’allumera et s’éteindra de façon aléatoire afin de faire croire à l’extérieur de votre domicile que vous êtes toujours présent.Bon produit.
