Bought it as a replacement for my old one as the dog decided to make a chew toy out of it.Easy to use and program. Great replacement for those that have lost or never had the original remote.

The auto programming worked better for me/my really old RCA TV
Bought this to replace a pretty old, different brand universal remote that replaced a really old and broken RCA R246 remote for a really old RCA TV. My hope was that surely since it is an RCA TV, the RCA remote would work with it even though it is pretty old. Ultimately it seems to work great. I was a little irritated that after following the instructions on the so called “quick” start sheet that was in the box, the secondary option worked faster and better. I followed the manual entry instructions and entered every single one of the five digit codes listed next to the RCA brand, which I think there were like 21 of them, and none of them worked. In fact, I did this twice just in case I had entered a digit incorrectly at some point. Then I tried the “auto” option and it worked quickly and fabulously. I later followed the instructions to retrieve the code, and lo and behold, it was not one of the codes that was listed to enter manually. So the manual entry part was a waste of my time. That said, I really like that it does all of the functions that the original remote did. I like that it also controls the Roku and is rechargeable. I guess we could also program it to run two other devices, but at this time I have no need of other devices in this room for this TV. While I bought it particularly for the RCA brand as I mentioned above, I also bought if for the rechargeability. I am hopeful that it won’t need recharged very often and that the batteries and thus the remote itself will last a long time.

Great remote. Only the Guide-Home and OK button/arrows illuminate. Some very similar models only the OK button/arrows illuminate.The biggest PITA with remotes like this is remembering how to program them when the day comes when you need to and the instructions are long lost. So, as a service to human-kind, here are some instructions in a font you can read, copy and paste and enlarge to whatever level you need.RCA Remotes – DVD or VCR1. Turn ON the device to program.2. Hold DVD-VCR + 3 (for DVD, DVD-VCR +2 for VCR) (flashes twice) – sets mode of programming to DVD (3) or VCR.(2) You don’t have to do this step for TVs or Satellite boxes.3. Hold DVD-VCR + POWER until power button lights and stays lit.4. Enter Shortcut Code: (different for TV, DVD-VCR, SAT/Cable) – optional 0-Phillips/Mag 1-Panasonic 2-Samsung 3-Sony 4-Toshiba (skip this step to just cycle through every make and model, takes longer)5. Press POWER button, wait 3-5 seconds to give device time to react.6. Press STOP if device turns off.7. Repeat steps 5 and 6. Press POWER, pausing until device turns off. Press STOP when it does. Excelente producto, llegó muy rápido. Al principio fue un poco complicado de configurar, porque los códigos que vienen en el documento no funcionaban con el televisor, pero al leer más detenidamente, encontré que existe una forma de que vaya probrando los códigos de forma automática en bloques de 10 y con eso quedó funcionando.

I bought this remote to use with a Vizio P659-G1 TV and Roku Ultra streaming box.I have two different kind of Vizio remotes and hate them both, they have really cheap feeling buttons and are often hard to press (have to be dead center of the small buttons).This RCA remote fixed the problem, the buttons feel great, it works perfectly with both my Vizio TV and Roku Ultra. I am very pleased with this and wish I would have gotten this way sooner.I had no problems setting it up to work with both devices.Excellent remote if you hate the crappy one that comes with Vizio TV’s
