My husband and I didn’t want to give it to the children…
Our children learned the hard way that if you do not take care of your things, you will not have them to play with. Case in point, when our expensive gaming system suffered a terrible “accident”, due to carelessness on the children’s part, it was not replaced. Accessories and games were sold and money was used for clean up. Therefore, we have been without a system for quite some time now. After much whining, crying, begging, and pleading, we have agreed to put a toe back into the gaming waters to see how things go and the E-Mods Gaming System fit the bill. This cost effective, cute little system comes with a retro mini TV, with a 3-inch screen, and one controller. The controller takes two AAA batteries and the TV is rechargeable and comes with a charging cable, (wall plug not included). The system has 168 games on it and can be played on the mini TV’s 3 inch screen or played on your TV using the provided auxiliary cable. As you scroll through the games, you will not recognize names, but you will recognize the games when you start to play them, because they look exactly like they did when we were growing up. For example, Tetris is called Blocks.Although the system comes with one controller, there is a two player option on most games. But the Amazon ad states you will need to purchase a second controller if you wish to use the two player option. The system turns on by using the second round knob on the TV and this same knob controls the volume. The first knob is only for decoration. The games can be played with no volume, so the game can be used anywhere. The game itself is easily turned off with the TV knob, but there is no turn off button for the controller. I couldn’t find anything about it in the instructions, so I assume it turns off on its own after awhile if the buttons are not touched. After the initial 6 hours of charging, my husband and I played the game on the TV for several hours, partially to test it out and partially because we were having too much fun. But after making them wait patiently, we turned the system over to the children. There has been blissful silence ever since and all of a sudden, there is a willingness to get along and share. If the good behavior continues, we will probably purchase one for each of the children.Overall, it is a fun little system at a great price point. As an adult, I really enjoyed playing the games I grew up with. However, if your kid(s) is use to the higher end gaming systems, this system is not going to cut it, they will be bored. The graphics are similar to the original Game Boy and the controller is very similar to the original Nintendo controller. The children, ages 7, 8, and 10, having been playing it non-stop since they received, so evidently they like it, and my husband and I give it five stars.

Very cute; Fun games
Reviewing E-MODS GAMING Handheld Game Console, This is a cute little game console. Itâs fun for kids, but itâs also fun for adults to play retro games from their past. It comes with one controller and while the console is rechargeable, the controller requires two AAA batteries (you can use rechargeable batteries in it, but it doesnât come with any batteries). It can be played on the little screen, but it is tiny. It does come with a cable to plug it into your TV if you want to play a larger version (an av cable). It has a lot of games I recognize from back in the 8bit days and the play is smooth and picture on the screen is clear. There is no lag. It supports two players, but youâll need to purchase another controller for that. The controller that comes with it is easy to figure out and intuitive to use. Keep in mind that if you are getting this for young kids, the volume is LOUD so be prepared to tell them repeatedly to turn down the volume, lol.

Couldnt get it to come on yet but will keep trying
I do like game console design like an old school television, however, I was unable to get the mini console to power up for me. It is aesthetically pleasing and I will try to get it to come on. Not sure what I did wrong or perhaps I need to charge something. I haven’t been paying too much attention to it honestly since I opened the package.

Cute, but not deep.
This is a really cool little retro TV that would fit in with your 1/12th scale action figures, which is why I picked this up. Beyond that… there’s not a lot of joy here if you’re interested in actual retro games. All of the games on here are cheap shovelware – the same few actual games with new skins on them, over and over, with nonsense names like ‘EATING’ or ‘DOG’. They’re not fun to play. But if you don’t care about that… the wireless controller is actually super responsive (even though it takes two AAA batteries, which sucks), the volume/on-off knob is great. The screen is tiny and it’s a super weird angle to look at this and play it if it’s just on a table or something… you gotta put this way high up on something so it’s eye level.Ultimately, it’s a harmless goofball little thing. It’s a $15 shovelware machine in a $15 shell. If you wanna pay for that, go for it! That’s nostalgia tax for you.

A retro gaming throwback to simpler times
This is a fun novelty gaming machine that packs a lot! It has an integrated screen designed to mimic old tube TVs and still looks and sounds decent for a 3″ screen. Even better, it includes an AV cable so you can run it out to any ordinary television set to experience the games on a bigger screen. Since they are composite cables you can easily hook these into any actual old CRT from the 90s-2000s. It is portable and rechargeable using a simple USB cable (included) so can be fun for travels. The games are all 8-bit style and I have yet to explore them all. It even has an optionally connectable antenna for that vintage look.

Cute little game unit. Perfect for young kids. 168 games. Rechargeable. Can output video.
I am a gamer at heart and I couldn’t pass up the chance to check this out. It is small, screen is only 3″. It features 168 games. They are mostly clones or generic versions but still playable. It is rechargeable so that makes it portable. The included remote is wireless and requires 2 AAA batteries. The unit itself has a knob for on/off and volume control. The knob is very small but perfect for small children. The other knob is just a dummy and has no function. The unit can output it’s video via supplies AV cable. The USB cable needed for charging is also supplied. I think older kids and adults will get bored with it fairly quickly, but young children may stay occupied longer. Since it is portable it can be used in the car or on trips to keep them entertained. I saw it with a 20% off coupon which makes it a pretty good value for the money.
