Unique Drum Pad
I’ve used a few different practice pad. Everything from a full 14″ drum pad, to small 6″ pad. I like this unique design. A lot of pads are very hard and honestly, don’t replicate the feel of a drumhead which is significantly softer than a pad. This pad does provide a more realistic feel of a drum. This causes you to really work on the rebound and the control. I would’ve given it full 5 stars BUT, it has this really strong odor. According to the product description, it states that it is made from Eco Friendly materials and does not have an odor. Wrong. It smells funny. Hopefully the smell will go away.In any case, I will use this pad instead of my “Real Feel” pad that I’ve been using for many years.This pad comes double-sided. One side is more spongier than the other. So, you get a softer rebound feel. And is a bit quieter. Both sides are quieter than my real feel pad. So, it’s a win win.

Excellent “reflex” pad for the price – actual non vine review
So I see the good reviews for this pad. I mean not to discount Vine reviews of free products, but that’s all there were. So now I can provide a personal review after a week of use.For anyone that is on the fence about this pad, I can go ahead and tell you that it is absolutely a viable substitute for the marshmallow or reflex pads by other Big name competitor brands. FANTASTIC silent response on the 0.6in side, exactly what I was looking for. Dead silent compared to the traditional pad, feels just like a fat dead 12″ tom that you would have tuned down pretty low.Don’t hesitate. I did briefly and should’ve hopped on this much sooner. You won’t be disappointed, neither will your wallet. It’s also 10″, not 6, not 8 but 10.

Soft, Quiet, Yet Realistic Feeling Drum Pad
Once upon a time, I used to drum regularly. Whether on a practice pad, a (very) old fashioned rope tension drum, or a modern marching band snare, I’ve played on them all. I’ve found myself wanting to get back into this hobby, so I ordered this pad and a pair of sticks to get back into the swing of things. This drum pad is double sided, with the top side being a spongy-like material, and the other is a thinner silicone. Both sides of the pad are very quiet compared to other pads I’ve used in the past. I was expecting the spongy side to be hard to play on, but it wasn’t at all. It definitely took more wrist strength, which actually helps to rebuild the chops I lost over the years. The side with the thinner silicone was very reminiscent of playing on my old rope tension drum, which is helpful as that is what I am wanting to get back into. Overall, both sides had good rebound and are very quiet to play on. My only complaint is that there is no rim around either side, so if you’re more of a modern drummer wanting to practice rim shots, or just getting your hands used to the right angles when you’re playing, this can be a negative. That aside, the pad is 10 inches wide so there is a great playing surface. It isn’t too big, so it is easy to transport between practice sessions or to store away easily. I love the pad and highly recommend it!
