MageGee offers a much longer lasting battery with the LIGHT87
For todayâs mechanical keyboard review, I am checking out the MageGee LIGHT87 80% Tri-Mode Creamy Mechanical Keyboard.MageGee is a company that makes gaming mechanical keyboards, mouse, headsets and other products and more. And for this review, I am reviewing the LIGHT87 which is a mechanical keyboard that is tri-mode and wireless (comes with a USB-C cable in white, key cap puller, extra switches and keycaps) and features a 5-layer gasket (which includes IXPE foam pad, PORON foam, diaphragm, EVA soundproofing foam and silicone absorbing pad) for sound dampening. The mechanical keyboard also is hot swappable and is RGB backlit. The RGB backlit features = 20 built-in backlight modes. There is a switch on the side left to turn off the RGB backlighting. Fn + ââ adjustable backlit colors, press Fn+ ââ _- =+ can control backlit brightness and speed. So, for the most part, the MageGee LIGHT87 80% Tri-Mode Creamy Mechanical Keyboard would make for a great beginners mechanical keyboard or those who are looking for a keyboard that they can customize. The mechanical keyboards come with 87 keys 100% anti-ghosting, unique side printed PBT keycaps. One thing that makes this different from other MageGee keyboards I have reviewed in the past is that this one comes built with a 8,000 mAh rechargeable battery that lasts for about 53 hours with RGB Backlit ON and 400 hours with RGB Backlight OFF. And you can definitely use this keyboard on PC and Mac.Now you can order this mechanical keyboard in numerous colors but the version I am reviewing is the âWhite Black/Ivory Switch” version. It’s important to note that each of these LIGHT87 keyboards come with an anime picture (on the rear are the instructions). The ivory switches no doubt gives a thocky sound, which is quite pleasing to the ears. The keyboard comes with a keycap puller, four extra ivory switches and a USB-C adapter. But for the most part, this is a solid mechanical keyboard that his hot swappable and gasket mounted. This version I am reviewing is tri-mode. So, it has Bluetooth 5.0 and comes with a 2.8 ghz USB wireless receiver. But I like the fact that people can utilize this keyboard and easily customize it or just use as is and it makes for a solid mechanical keyboard. But at under $60, the MageGee LIGHT87 80% Tri-Mode Creamy Mechanical Keyboard is an affordable gasket mounted mechanical keyboard that works very well and has a longer lasting battery making it worthwhile.

Stylish and smooth
A fine TKL (no numpad). Got this mostly for the pre-made nicely colored caps on a solid linear switch board, so everything else is a bonus. And after using it for a couple weeks I’m happy!Typing on these linear switches is great. Compared to some other full-size cap linear switches on a gasket frame, this one is definitely quieter. Props to the mfg for not skimping on cap or gasket quality here. It’s not as quiet as my home theatre keyboard (membrane lol) but definitely not as bad as other linear boards I’ve got.I LOVE the glyphs on the front faces of the keys. So nice! If you’re not used to glyphless caps this is a good way to get started as your eye will mostly skip over the fronts and you’ll have to intentionally look when you need to.LIghting has a lot of options but honestly, most of them ruin the aesthetic of the caps’ colors. If you want to go full-speed full-rainbow compass cycle go crazy, but there are less bold options. I found a nice slow raindrop-esque effect in white at the lowest brightness that means I can still see where the thing is in the dark but don’t have garish LEDs ruining the look of the board in the day.Power/mode switch is easy to operate, way better than some other big brands.Battery life… this thing has a huge battery and it still shows 90% full lol. So yeah. Not a worry. They can pack huge lithium ion packs in here. One complaint I’ll voice is that I’d like for the Fkeys to have their special media functions (the ones you’d use the ‘fn’ key to activate) printed on the glyphs, or available in some kind of physical overlay? They’re in the manual but I didn’t memorize it and then ended up not using them.Overall, looks great, type feel is fine, and functionally zero complaints. Grab it if you like it!

Very nice 87 key gasket keyboard that has a nice typing feel
Mechanical keyboards more so been i guess you can say a hobby to me for years and i really like when keyboards has gasket mount and hot swappable and also having wireless 2.4ghz and bluetooth and wired and when i saw this one cause it has a retro look to it i had to grab it.First thing the keyboard is very solid feeling and has alot of weight to it which i love in a keyboard and again the retro look of it i really like also and the key feel of the creamy feel of the ivory white linear switch’s has a nice smooth feeling to them and the pbt keycaps is also pretty solid feeling to them and it also has 5 layers of sound damping which gives it a nice feel to it which you can even see by just taking a key cap off.It also has a big 8000mah battery which i been using it on bluetooth mode with the rgb on for 4 to 5 days now and its still holding a good charge it will last even longer when not using the rgb. It’s nice it comes with a keycap and a switch puller a nice usb wire and the usb dongle is stored nicely in the keyboard casing and 4 extra switch’s for replacements when needed. Its just a very nice solid feeling keyboard and i love itð

Great Cream Switch Keyboard!
If you are like me and like to hear the sound of your keys while typing with a super smooth stroke, this keyboard is for you. I have the keyboard that features mainly white keys with some charcoal grey and a beautiful dusty blue. I like to call it my âsharkâ keyboard because the keysâ colors remind me of the colors you see on a shark. This keyboard does not feature 10-key which means that its smaller size fits easier on my desk. You can change the RGB colors (all rainbow colors) with different color-changing profiles. I prefer mine to stay steady in their rainbow color, but you can change it to flashing, flowing or wave of the lights. The packaging was very impressive, safe for transport. The keyboard came with extra keys, a dongle for using wirelesslyâ¦AND a USB cord so I can use the keyboard plugged in to my computer if I choose. Highly recommend.
