It works! Keeps my Index cool!
Long sessions with the Index can definitely start to warm up your eyeballs, so this is a fairly necessary accessory in my opinion. First thing I will say is that I wish it had been easier to install. The USB cord is understandably short, but I actually had to pull it a lot more than I was comfortable with in order to pop the fan piece in place. I can only imagine it will be equally difficult to remove, but fortunately I have no need or intention of removing it. Second note, the fan is not very loud at all. You will not hear it while playing. You will only feel the air moving if you place your hand right over it, but don’t let the low power fool you. It will certainly remove the heat. I do wish there was an LED indicator to show when it’s on or off. The power button is only slightly lower when it’s on, so sometimes it can be difficult to tell, especially when the index is on your face. Regardless of any of my gripes, this is a must have for Index owners.

It’s fine as long as you absolutely don’t move in VR… yeah that’s not going to happen.I’ve even been asked if I was using a vibr*tor in VRChat because of how much noise these fans output when you’re merely moving your head around while it’s on, and once you move your head around once this thing won’t stop making noise.It does cool your index down fairly well and you can ignore the noise if you’re blasing 100% sound in BeatSaber while playing, but anything else it WILL get in the way if you’re sensitive with background noise.Otherwise, good product, probably the best fan to actually keep the index cool, it also keeps your face slightly cool sometimes as you’ll feel a very faint breeze.

For just $32, this little mod for the Valve Index is amazing. You noticeably stay much cooler on your face (and forehead for me personally), and the lenses barely fog whatsoever, really not at all. It took me no time at all to install this radiator to the front, and I’m not sure why people are having issues. It’s a simple plug-and-play procedure. USB goes in, and the radiator slots right in afterwards. At first it may seem like the cable is too short, but once you press in the far side of the radiator, the whole thing follows and snaps right into place with no issues at all. The fans do have a whine to them, but with the headset on you don’t really notice it, and it doesn’t interfere with the mic either which is a huge bonus. To be honest, there really are no drawbacks to this, and for the price point it is more than worth it. It works exactly as intended, and really makes a difference if you’ve never had one before but have played VR for a long time in the past. If one reason you stop playing VR often is because of heat and exhaustion in your head region, this will let you go on for much longer. Definitely recommended.

I was finding that my face was getting way too hot well wearing my Valve Index sitting in my chair, in full body tracking, in front of the mirror in “The Black Cat”. I bought the Kiwi fan as a solution.I’m unsure the calorie burn of just sitting motionless croaking in my most exaggerated rumbling tough guy voice to all passing persons, but boy was my face sweating. It got so bad I’d have to take my headset off just to wipe the small pool of water off the lenses- exposing me to the bleak reality that I am sitting in the dark on a Friday night mumbling to myself looking like low budget dystopian fan art.The Kiwi fan pushes just enough air that fogging is prevented and a small movement of air is felt mainly on the eyes. The air drying my eyes right out perfectly and insuring any trip to the washroom mirror has me looking like I’ve been scuba diving with pink eye. There is a small notable buzz sound that comes from the dual micro fans well they run. It does get drown out though. I personally stop hearing the buzz once the six guys in ape avatars start scream singing Taylor Swift songs right next to me well a small sounding British youth tries out his latest edge humour on any willing ears.I bought this back in October of 2021 and it still works perfectly. Over all, I would say this is a must for any Valve Index user who can endure extended play time!

The product broke down after just cuple of mounds. Also the product is super loud evry 1 can hear it. “Update” I changed from 1 to 4 stars at first i contacted them and got shiped a car sticker.. som 1 madee a mistake. So the w8 for a new unit was kinda long but today i got a replaysment thay been nice and responsive abaut the situacion.The new unit is not laud as the first 1 so im thinking i got a faulthy unit from the start. This 1 seems to work fine for now.
