I am now in control. And lovin’ it.
The remote for one of our TVs died, so I purchased the Philips Universal Remote Control to replace it. After a brief set-up I found that it controls the volume and channels. Works well, easy to set up, and does all I would expect it to do. It is very reasonably priced.I did find one quirk, when looking at the on-screen guide, if I wish to go from channel 43 to channel 45 it is necessary to press the ‘-‘ button as opposed to what I would expect, the ‘+’ button. I have resolved this problem by holding the remote backwards and upside down during such operations.I have done some additional experimentation as to the universality of the remote. For example, I have found it has no apparent effect as a remote starter for my car, is of no value whatsoever with PowerPoint presentations during ZOOM meetings, and it cannot operate a lawn mower. In this I am bitterly disappointed and suggest revising the name to “Philips Universal Remote Control FOR TELEVISIONS AND CABLE AND STREAMING STUFF” (emphasis added) to avoid similar future disappointments to others.To close with positive notes, it does a fine job controlling the TV and Roku box in the kitchen, and that’s great. And to my delight I have found it has a profound effect on my neighbor, R. Philips, who has just finished mowing my yard (the ‘A’ button), and next will be washing our cars (the ‘B’ button). I’ve yet to assign the ‘C’ or ‘D’ buttons, but I think leaf and snow removal may be good candidates, come fall and winter.

Ease of use
This was easy to use and to get the right codes for all of my electronics. The one reason I got a new remote is because my old one the buttons wouldn’t work. I kept having to keep pushing them to get them to work and this one did the same thing. Brand new out of the box the buttons wouldn’t work unless I pushed them several times.

Programmable
The most involved part of this remote is the setup, but once that’s done, it works like a charm. It comes with a booklet of common codes and has a feature that tries to autodetect the code for the receiver. The auto feature didn’t work so well for me, so I had to try a few of the codes for the manufacturer of my device. I circled the code since the booklet says that if the batteries die, the programming gets reset. I like being able to control so many devices in one remote.

Ya sea que los controles de reemplazo sean feos, voluminosos y con botones y opciones que uno ni busca ni quiere… Este control es más bonito que el original de mi pantalla. Reconoció las claves en solo unos cuantos clicks (siguiendo las instrucciones, no te saltes ningún paso) y en un par de minutos ya estaba operando mi pantalla.ADEMÁS VIENE CONFIGURADO PARA MI ROKU!!!! no le tuve que hacer nada para esto de inmediato jaló y ahora puedo controlar mi pantalla y mi roku express con el mismo control remoto! lo adoro y mi esposa más!!!Se los recomiendo, no tiene pantalla LCD para cosas que ni me imagino qué serán ni botones para manipular satélites. Sólo lo básico y elemental hoy en día… digo, si puedo operar mi pantalla y mi Roku desde aquí estoy F.E.L.I.Z.Solo sirve para 3 aparatos, por si quieres más busca otra opción.
