Worth every penny
This was my first tv sound system Iâve purchased. For under $200 this is an awesome setup.
The app is easy to use and allows you to customize the audio however you want. The presets on the app work great as well.
I hooked my system up to my onn. Roku tv with zero issues. After plugging everything in, I turned on my tv and everything automatically connected. I like that you can use the original remote for your tv. No extra remotes to lose!
Sound quality is great. I feel like my living room is a mini movie theater now. The bass is just right, the surround speakers are crisp, and the sound bar is clear as day.
Iâm really glad I chose this system. I was able to save some money and still have a major upgrade to my tvâs audio setup.
Would recommend.

Would Buy Again
Hard to beat for a 5.1 system at this price point. Very easy to install and setup. Works great in the living room with the Roku Ultra steaming box and my 4 year old LG TV. Replaced a 4 year old LG 5.1 system that decided to die. My other sets are each using a 9 year old Vizio 5.1 system that are still going strong. I’m hoping this unit lasts as long.
The app is great! Better than any soundbar remote that I’ve ever had. Easy to make the necessary adjustments and tweaks. Took a few days of tweaking to get it just right. Once adjusted it sounds great.

Worth it if you can get it set up
I have a Vizio Smart TV that is about 5 years old, using a FireTV stick with it. The speaker died on the tv and I decided to add a sound bar. I thought it would be easier to get a sound bar working if it was the same brand as the TV.
I plugged the cable into the appropriate port on the tv (eARC or something I think) and followed the included instructions. It did âworkâ but sounded terrible. It lagged horribly, eventually not synching with the video. The volume control lagged, and had to be played at about 75% full volume. It sounded TERRIBLE. There was no where to adjust the settings on the sound bar.
The VIZIO app did not connect to the sound bar. I spent hours trying to get this thing working. Followed instructions, and still it would not connect via Bluetooth. But I was getting sound so that was an improvement. It finally kept disconnecting from the tv and I gave up and started the return process.
After a couple of days, before disconnecting and packaging the sound bar up for return, I decided to try the app one more time. Again following the instructions to the letter, and for some reason this time, the sound bar and app paired/connected. I was finally able to use an âequalizerâ to adjust the sound bar. It sounds clear, adjusting the volume only lags for about a second, and I no longer have to adjust the volume past 50% to hear it clearly. The clarity is decent and music sounds good as well.
The app is a must have to make this sound bar work properly and sound good. If you cannot get the app to work, this is a no go. It should connect via Bluetooth easier than it did. But if you can get it connected, itâs great. There isnât much to really do with the app after you set it up, but you can adjust volume and equalizer settings from it if you choose.
This would be a 5 star item if it worked with the app properly for me. Since I had such difficulty with the pairing of the app with the speaker, I docked a star. I have also cancelled my return for this item and will keep it.

BUY IT!!
Absolutely amazing sound from a $200 system and set-up is a breeze. The rear speakers connect to the subwoofer via wires, these speakers can easily be mounted on the wall with the included brackets. Playing music wirelessly via a smartphone provides an immersive experience that is well worth the money spent. The Vizio app allows for fine tuning equalization of your musical experience. As a home theater, it shines in its ability to elevate your viewing pleasure through surround sound. This system is a steal at such a low price price!

Very disappointing
I’m rewriting my review… I think I was in too much of a hurry the first time and was overly generous.
I appreciate good audio. Never in my life have I watched a movie or listened to music using phone speakers. But I’m not audiophile-fussy… it just has to be good. (Ya know, old schooler here who built up many component systems over my lifetime.)
It took me a while to conclude that a lot of soundbars were “good enough” for me… some provide an excellent way to get quality audio for a couple-hundred bucks. I had a 2.1 LG that was under 200 that I was very pleased with for example.
This one doesn’t cut it, though. Lots of high-end features (ATMOS) at a very reasonable price, but very “thin”, low-drynamic-range sound with very little bass. If I hadn’t waited 4 months to use it I’d be returning it. (I used it once, wrote the initial review, and then stumbled on a used Bose system so this went back in the box until I decided to set-up an outdoor movie projection set-up.)
I don’t want to bash Vizio – they make some great quality stuff. I know I’ve heard Vizio soundbars that impressed me, but I happen to have two Video soundbars in my office right now… this one, which is too “thin” and tinny and one of Vizio’s original soundbars (the first one I ever bought) and it’s the opposite – way too base-y (but not in a good way) and muddy. Both of them are, frankly, terrible. I would consider Vizio again, but definitely not one of the budget ones if I couldn’t hear it first.
COMPATIBILITY:
A couple of reviewers gave bad reviews and complained that this only works on VIZIO TVs. ***THEY ARE WRONG*** They either had TVs that were too old to have an ARC (Audio Return Channel) HDMI port, or they just didn’t know what they were doing. If your TV has an ARC or eARC HDMI port, use it for this. It will work… just think of it as an audio-out cable… you can still watch incoming video on the other HDMI ports, but the audio will be routed out the ARC port to the soundbar. This soundbar does not come with a remote, but that’s okay. Changing the volume on your TV remote will change the volume on the soundbar. If you connect via bluetooth (like from your phone) the volume control on your phone will control the speaker (and there’s always physical Vol +/- buttons as well.)
I’m impressed that this one support Dolby Atmos, but honestly, I don’t see how a 2-channel speaker can possible do that level of audio simulation… if you really care about the benefits of Atmos, you’re probably going to buy a full-fledged home theater set-up.
I’ve also had an LG soundbar that I liked better, but it was double the price and had an external sub-woofer (it also stopped working on our cross-country move, so there’s that.)
It all comes down to what you want and how fussy you are. If cost is your deciding factor and you want to keep it under a hundred dollars, I think you’ll be impressed with this one.
