Great sound for its size
I had purchased this center channel speaker along with Polk’s Signature Elite ES10 front speakers for our home theater system.
I had researched reviews and ratings, and needed fairly compact size speakers so they would not be over-bearing.
Once we had finalized and settled on using Polk speaker’s, we narrowed down some choices.
We were a little dismayed at Amazon on which model or versions they would ship to Hawaii. For example, we wanted to have the center channel speaker (ES30 or ES35) to match the ES10, but for some unknown reason, Amazon won’t ship them here. We’ve run into this on lots of other items, not just these speakers.
Regardless, we are very happy with our selections, The sound is great, and while watching tv or movies, voices come through quite clear as we were having a lot trouble understanding speech without having to have the volume up high. While these are fairly compact in size, don’t let the size fool you. They pack quite a bit along with Polk’s XT35 center speaker and a Yamaha 8″ powered subwoofer, we have a pretty nice small home theater, although at this time is only the front. I haven’t yet figured out a cost-effective way to incorporate rear speaks as there is no clean way to hard-wire speakers and currently wireless rear speakers are cost-prohibitive.

Integrated well with B&W bookshelf speakers.
I needed a center channel speaker with a low profile and this unit fit the bill at a good price. My concern was if it would play nicely with a set of B&W bookshelf speakers. B&W products are very clean and bright sounding on the high end. I have to say, this unit way exceeded my expectations. The Polk speaker integrated beautifully and really expanded the Soundstage of my setup. I can highly recommend this speaker.

Nice Polk center channel speaker. Elevates spoken audio as designed. I will admit I’m a bit of a Polk fan, but then, they’re such quality speakers for the price. Why wouldn’t I be?

Aweome for vocals!
I built a complete Onkyo/Polk sound system that I use on my gaming PC.
I am very happy with this entire setup and highly recommend Polk speakers to anyone looking for a nice sound system at a moderate price.

Why a Grey grill instead of Black?
I purchased this Polk XT 35 to replace my old Polk CS 10 center channel speaker. The performance, in my opinion, is about a 10% improvement over the CS 10. This speaker like most Polk products is a good performer and fairly priced. What I Do Not Like is the fact that this unit has a Grey grill and all my other Polk speakers (right and left towers and surround and rear surrounds have a black grill; as do my Klipsch Atmos speakers. I like to keep the grill covers on my speakers and this just does not fit in with my others. I just can’t understand why the XT series went to Grey. I deducted 1 star for the aesthetics.

Excellent soundbar
This is the center sound bar speaker for my 7.1.2 surround sound system. I have it paired with the Monitor XT60, XT12, XT15 and XT20 speakers.

Perfect size, great sound
Finally a center channel that takes into account people’s actual furniture. Especially since we don’t have our TVs mounted to the wall in our rental unit, this is a perfect size to fit under a TV (ours is 55″). I used to have the older Polk center channel and it was mounted above my TV on a shelf I built. But that was a pain to assemble, and we didn’t end up using it when we moved to a new place. But this new one is so much more consumer friendly. We had the TV on its original foot mount, but the center channel was just a hair too tall (its maybe 4″). We got a fairly cheap extendable arm to put on top of our TV cabinet and the Polk center channel fits perfectly on that foot. The whole setup is very space efficient. That said, the sound is great. All the modern sound setups on streaming, TV and BluRays (remember those?) seems to be designed for dialogue in the center channel. With this Polk unit plugged into our Onkyo TX-NR636 (at least 5 years old), we can once again hear all the dialogue and our side speakers (Polk 10″ bookshelves and JBL 20″ monitors) can distribute and handle bass, higher treble and directional sound. Its a very satisfying setup for our space and a great piece of gear.

On a limited budget, I had a very poor (and cheap) centre channel speaker connected to my Onkyo TX-SR494 AR. I finally decided to get something better, but as we all know there is no upper limit on the price of good quality audio gear. In any case, I chose this speaker based on many of its reviews here on Amazon.
Within the first few minutes of listening, I knew I had made an excellent choice for the money. The speaker produces strong, bright and clear sound across a wide range of frequencies with excellent fidelity. I have tested this on several 5.1 musical recordings (e.g. Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson) and now a significant gap in my surround experience has been effectively filled. I have no complaints whatsoever.
