Yippee! I finally found a perfect product for external large-capacity SSDs! Easy to assemble, 40Gbps with no slowdown…Solid state (no fan to fail after a while). Built like a brick…you know the rest. I need three to hold all my files (going back 40 years!) so I just ordered two more.

Decent enclosure, with fast speed. But no additional power option.
This is a great case for NVME SSD drives. The speed is pretty fast, can get about 2000MB/s write or read. But the only issue I have encountered is that on some computer/laptop there is not enough power to the enclosure. Which cause accessing the drive become unstable. This didn’t happen on every PC, but only some selected PCs. There are no extra power options, like some of the other enclosure. So it can be a problem for some devices.

Incredible speed
This enclosure is very fast. (3500 write!)I did copy over 2TB of data , no thermal throttling at any stage.Please take note it is heavy (365 Grams) , I guess this chunk of metal is needed to keep the nvme coolThe installation is quite easy.I am only using it on Mac with thunderbolt 4, can’t share any experience with PC , but I guess you must have USB4 port in order to achieve the same results.Highly recommend.

Only good for Silicon Mac, not Intel
I have several Mac computers. My main Mac is an M1 Silicon model that uses TB4 ports. I also have a 2019 27″ iMac Intel that has TB3 ports. On the M1 Mac the write/read speeds are 3k (Black Magic) using a WD SN850x drive. On the Intel they are 1000/2500. In theory it should make no difference but apparently the chip set in this enclosure was designed specifically for TB4 ports. I got this enclosure to use primarily as a boot drive for the iMac so had to return. However, this enclosure is well built with a nice case to dissipate the heat.

Connecting a USB4 SSD enclosure with a Crucial P3 Plus 2TB PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD to my MacBookâs Thunderbolt 4. The speed is really shines. Read speed is about 2500MB/s, write speed is 3420MB/s. Transferring large 4K video files is a quick and easy process now. As a high-speed, high-capacity external storage, it works excellently!
