Works perfectly, quick, not inexpensive
Using with my PS5, it formats and transfers files just fine. Since you cannot play PS5 games from this drive, it is simply for storage and transfers. I have not attempted to play PS4 games from this.I also found out that only one USB extended storage can be used at any given time. I already had a 2TB drive for storage and plugging this in would not work in conjunction with it. Since you can only use one drive at a time, choose the storage space you need to begin with if you don’t want to have to swap drives and remember which drive has the games you’re stored.Otherwise this works just fine and provides quick access to saved games.

Worked on Playstation and PC/Linux
I was able to use this drive on anything I could connect it to, Console, PC, Linux all worked as expected. Transfer speeds were acceptable. Size tested to 1TiB also.Inside is not just an m.2 NVMe drive in a carrier. It’s the controller with hard mounted memory. This is better for a portable drive in my experience. I’ve had some come loose in their carrier. It’s not possible to shake things loose in this. I’d feel more comfortable tossing it in my backpack this way. So no thinking you can get a less expensive NMVe drive for some other use.

Why pay this much for PS4 storage?
This is just like any other external HDD out there for PS5… meaning you can’t store and play PS5 games from it, making it pointless for adding more storage. If you’re gunna get drop this kind of money, get yourself an M.2 drive.
Review –
Consistent performance but price is a bit high
I ran stress tests on this drive for over an hour to see how it would hold up to constant read/writes, and it performed very well, maintaining a steady 800-900 MB/sec read and write speed on my MacBook Pro. It also performed well on both my PS4 and PS5, with zero issues loading games from cold storage on my PS5 (since it doesn’t allow direct playing of games from external storage) and on my PS4, the games I moved to this drive played just fine.However, the price is a bit of a problem. The PlayStation isn’t very picky about external storage, and I have yet to plug in an external SSD that did not work. The challenge mainly comes from Samsung’s external offerings, which I also have. They deliver 2,000 MB/sec up and down versus this drive that peaks at 1,000 MB/sec and are the same price or sometimes cheaper on Amazon, depending on sales.So, the bottom line is that this drive works well and is a solid product for its performance. However, it is not a great deal, as it sits right in the middle of the pack price-wise.

High Speed Storage
This drive is exceeding good at transferring files. It is nice and speedy, easy to connect via regular USB or type C, and has a nice small footprint. I’ve tested with my PS4, as well as Windows PC. It works well for both. I don’t have a PS5, so can’t attest to latest gen compatibility, but this is an officially licensed PS drive, so I have no doubt it will work. Price is a little high, and I’m not sure how much more benefit you get with this vs a cheaper external drive, but there is also something to be said for using “official” accessories. Would recommend for Playstation, but there are definitely cheaper options out there for it (quality may vary); and especially cheaper options for PC only usage.

Picked up – works well.
This SSD seemed to be plug-and play, with no storage speed difference from a built-in storage option. It’s faster than most people’s internet download speeds, so installations of games will feel just about the same whether it’s on this or the integrated storage. It came packaged well and it feels ultra durable. The USB-C port is rubber sealed and seems like it will keep moisture and dust out – so if you travel somewhat often this might be a good option. If you don’t travel and this is going to just sit behind a desk or media stand, there are likely cheaper expansion options.

This is a fast drive for your storage needs. The drive can also be used with other devices, like a Mac or pc, as a normal storage device. Well built. As a FYI the drive is not shuckable.
