Love it
The main reason I actually got this is because my USB C port is starting to go out, and I can’t reliably charge. This controller clamps my phone in, and has it’s own USB C port, which has pass through for charging. Aside from that, in general it works pretty great and seems to have good quality construction. The GameSir app makes it so you can use the controller with games that only support touch screen controls. It can be a little work configuring it for a new game, but it works, period. Other apps I’ve tried seemed to have weird issues, required changing all kinds of settings, or recommending rooting. I’m glad I ended up getting a GameSir gamepad, because their all seems to work better than the others I’ve tried (plus I don’t think I would have when found out about the app otherwise, when looking online for apps I never came across it).

Totally amazing so far
The controller is great. I bought this because I have several dedicated hand held devices, but find too often that when I decide I am in the mood to use one I reach for one and it’s totally dead or close to dead and I only get a few minutes of play while the device frantically blinks at me letting me know at any moment everything I just did will be lost (looking at you Anbernic 351). So, since I always have my phone and it’s always charged I thought I’d give one of these a try. I got this one specifically because of the USB C connection vs wireless and the size. I also don’t mind the very NA SNES color scheme. I have had a long history of trying to use blutooth controllers and never being satisfied. Some games are fine to have that little bit of latency, but not with most of the games I personally play. And with this size, my pockets are deep enough I can still carry it around like normal. I have had this controller on my phone since it arrived a week ago. It doesn’t appear to impact phone charging time in any way and will go into some sort of standby if not used for a while so I have not noticed any difference in battery life when not gaming. I’ve not found anything I dislike about the face buttons, shoulder buttons, analog triggers or analog sticks. The D pad I want to bring more attention to. It’s honestly fantastic. Has a great pivot where you can push right down in the middle of the pad and it doesn’t go down at all and doesn’t register any input when you do this. There is no slop and very little travel distance when pressing the directions in. They are clicky and require very little force giving you good positive feedback that you have pressed the direction (all the buttons are clicky like this). The D pad, buttons and sticks all to me are pretty much perfect as far as how little force is needed to use them. I played through AM2R start to finish and it felt great. Some stand outs to me was how easy wall jumping was early game and later getting through those item challenges when you have to use pretty precise moving tech like storing shinespark and using it then regain it on a small hill.
