Amazing controller
Lights up in multiple different color settings and buttons and joysticks have no drift and still work fine even after playing smash. Many Amazon controllers are low quality and sticks drift after playing but this one is great

My new de facto controller
I’ve had the original pro-controller almost since launch but always looked for a cheaper option for a day-to-day use. About 2-3 years ago I found this Zelda themed PowerA wired controller and decided to give it a try and, save for very few instances, it has been my main controller. That is until the left joystick started to show some drifting ð (I’ll probably keep it to see if I can salvage it with some hall effect joysticks later). Enter the new kid on the block: same brand, more robust feel and less than half the price of the pro-controller; sign me up.Comparing all 3 side by side, the old wired controller did feel a bit too light and plasticky when compared to the pro-controller, this new one feels more robust (akin to the pro-controller) while also being more comfortable for my adult-sized hands than the pro-controller. I also just noticed the texturing on the joysticks (see the pictures), not sure how I feel about that but the new ones do seem to provide a better grip. The joysticks also glide very smoothly and all the buttons have a very robust feel to them. For further comparison:-Pros: *Mappable buttons (really useful) *Headphone jack (I don’t live alone and find this very useful) *LEDs (never had a problem finding the buttons, but it DOES look cool) *Still cost effective-Cons: *No gyro (not many games that I own use it anyway) *No amiibo (again, not essential) *No rumble (don’t care) *Does not wake up the system (ok, this one would have been nice)Honestly, I only switch back to the pro-controller when playing Zelda BotW or TotK (when the first 2 cons come into play). I also noticed that the new cable has a locking mechanism on the plug to the controller, not sure I like that and will be using the old cable. On the event of something tugging on the cable I’d rather have the cable disconnect (easier on the controller given the angles) than pull on the Switch and throw it to the ground (yes, this has happened, and hence why I added the wire holder next to console and why I’ll use the old cable). All in all, a very good controller for it’s initial play session and, as I entitled this review, this will be my de facto controller unless I need to use an amiibo or the game experience is significantly better with gyro controls.

Great feel and works good
Had this controller for about a month and so far so good! Has a great feel when playing SSBU and the inputs are great because of the controller being wired.

It feels comfortable to hold and is super responsive during gameplay.
I’m really pleased with my PowerA Enhanced Nintendo Switch Controller! It feels comfortable to hold and is super responsive during gameplay. The wired connection ensures I never have to worry about battery life, which is a huge plus for longer gaming sessions. The design is sleek, and it integrates seamlessly with my Switch. It’s a fantastic alternative to the original Joy-Cons, offering great value for the price!!

Works well
Iâve had this for almost 5 months and it works great. The cord is super long if you need to be further from your switch or other device. I use thumb grips on mine because Iâve had history of going in on them on Xbox/wearing them down. About two months ago, Iâve notice my left stick starting to drift. Iâm sure thatâs because of me going ham on Splatoon and it hasnât been as noticeable on there the last several times I played. However, itâll be noticeable on slower games, like Animal crossing and the Disney version, when it does decide to drift. Flicking it back usually helps stop it but itâs tedious to deal with if itâs on a bout of drifting, because itâll mess up continuous/line planting or making decisions in-game. Again, I havenât seen the drift in a small while but it does happen from time to time. If you take really great care of this controller, itâll be good to you like all things.

Go-to Controller
Sleek design and nice quality feel to it, a tiny bit heavier than my wireless one but I like my controllers to have some weight to them.

DO NOT BUY- LISTEN.
these controllers have the cutest and coolest looks to them. mine works on the homescreen for my switch. I have an oled if that makes a difference. so I plugged it into the dock. it works fine on the homescreen but immediately stops working in a game, none of the buttons work but the controller is on. I still had to use joycons.for example, I played kirby’s forgotten land, the controller was on but it’s like all of the buttons stop working, even if I unplug and plug it in again.the controller is cute.. but it doesn’t work. maybe it’ll work for other games- I’m keeping it because I love the design but I’ll just be using joycons. at least the controller was only $20 but next time I’ll go for more joycons.

The Joystick drifts is the main problem and ultimately the main reason for the one star. If you don’t mind having random joystick inputs then go right ahead and buy this. Also, the charging and connection cable is poorly designed… with just a little force it comes out… obviously there should be a mechanism to keep it secure.

Highly recommend if you appreciate good quality lightweight controllers, and you’re a Zelda fan.Performance: The controller works flawlessly with the Nintendo Switch. The buttons are responsive, the analog sticks are smooth, and the overall layout feels intuitive and comfortable, even during long gaming sessions. The wired connection ensures zero lag, which is crucial for action-packed games like Tears of the Kingdom.Design & Build Quality: The attention to detail is excellent. It feels solid and durable, yet lightweight enough to hold comfortably for hours. The textured grips make it easy to handle, and the Hylian Shield design looks even better in person.Bonus Features: The programmable buttons on the back are a game-changer for custom setups. Theyâre easy to configure and add a level of versatility that makes gameplay smoother and more personalized.Overall, this controller offers fantastic value for the price. Whether youâre a casual gamer or a die-hard Zelda fan, itâs a must-have addition to your gaming setup.
