Best Controller For Nintendo Switch Period
Just bought a new OLED Switch mainly for playing on the TV (my son already owned a Switch Lite) and all I can say is WOW! Been gaming for decades and I have to say, this has got to be the absolute best controller I have ever bought so far. You can tell the first time you touch it it’s amazing and super high quality. Had no problem connecting to my Switch, I did enable the pro controller wired communication in the Switch settings first as a commenter suggested, don’t know if that made a difference or not. It connected no problem first time. I’ve only played with it one night and so far no connection issues. The charging base and built in batteries mean no fiddling with changing power cells, just pick up the controller and play, put it back on the charger when done. Seemed a bit pricey at first but this really is a case (and it pains me to say it) of “You get what you pay for” which isn’t always true. If you own a Switch and are looking for a good wireless game pad I would say this IS the controller. Folks say it’s better then the Licensed Pro Controller which I haven’t handled, but I can’t see anything being better than this 8Bitdo at least in the case of the Switch. Best part, it is both Bluetooth AND 2.4Ghz Wireless (coming with a dongle for 2.4Ghz) via a switch on the backside of the controller making is great for PC as well. Motion controls feel the same as those on the Joycons. Got the white one to match my Switch, my setup looks amazing with the Switch in the cradle and the controller next to it on the charging stand. This was a great purchase.

Fantastic Controller — Preferred over the Switch Pro Controller and KingKong 2 Pro
I bought my 8BitDo controller last July, six months ago. In that time period it has become my favorite controller on the Switch.It’s quality. It doesn’t feel cheap or overly-light, and the buttons and joysticks feel solid. There is no risk of your joysticks drifting, like with a Switch Pro. It’s hardy, as well; I’ve had a few instances of the controller accidentally falling off a table onto a hard floor, or one of the kids stepping on it, and the controller hasn’t malfunctioned at all.The kinds of games I primarily play are Smash Bros. Ultimate and Hades, though I’ll also play games like Mario Kart and Mario Party with the family. This controller works fantastically with all of those games; in particular the controller has been wonderful in Elite Smash, being very responsive with virtually no noticeable latency issues.On top of all that, it just feels good to hold. I’m told that people with very large hands may struggle with this controller, as it is slightly smaller than a Smash Pro controller, but I’m inclined to think that most people will prefer the size and feel of an 8BitDo controller (unless you just happen to have unusually large hands). And the charging station was a great addition, as well.All in all, this was what I was looking for in a controller. In my opinion, it is the best controller you can buy for the Switch.EDIT: My pet rabbit gnawed the joystick off of my controller, so I ordered a new one here. I was stunned to find that the joysticks drifted, right out of the box. This was meant to not be possible with these controllers. I have no idea how this has happened, but I’m pissed.

Amazing ultimate controller
I just got the 8bitdo ultimate controller yesterday and I absolutely love everything about it. I watched countless reviewers and heard about how much they liked this controller and I just had to get it. I liked it so much we ordered it in black . alot of people said they found it to be uncomfortable after playing for long periods I have not found that to be true . in fact i find it to be extremely comfortable I have small hands so it is a perfect fit . once again the reviewers were correct with how long it would take to charge and the ease of set up one of the easiest pro controllers to set up. This is the first pro controller I have had that has software that you can download on your smartphone pc and all I can say is I love that feature and the way you can adjust the pro controller to your liking. This was my first 8bit do pro controller and it definitely will not be my last considering we got it in black. If I wouldHave known how nice these controllers were I would have bought them all along. From now on and in the future I will be purchasing 8 bit products. This ultimate pro controller puts the official Nintendo switch Pro controller to sleep in my book . I have had my Nintendo switch pro controller since it came out and it no longer does the functions the ultimate does . it no longer rumbles or does anything. The reviewers are right once you use the ultimate controller you never want to go back to.the Nintendo switch procontroller. Which was the same price as the ultimate and it after only 2 yrs is no longer functioning properly . And another thing that the ultimate has over the pro controller its own charging dock. Everyone has there own opinions on this but mine is the ultimate is an amazing controller with so much to offer it bears the switch pro controller hands down in my book.

Incredible controller. Instant connect on PC with switch emulators (Yuzu/Ryujinx).
I haven’t ever had a controller before because I always thought the joysticks would wear out eventually and I just like KB/mouse.I tried this (partially due to hall effect sticks).I am amazed. I am able to use this with the Suyu/Ryujinx emulators and I can play any switch game on my PC just fine, and make my life happy again. Switch games are where it’s at.PC connection needs to be used with 2.4G mode, and it instantly connects every time (no fuss or re-config). Tested on Windows 10. I also like how it’s plug and play. I didn’t have to install any software or download anything to get this work. It works out of the box and that’s impressive.Functionality wise, the buttons and sticks are great, responsive.Really happy with this, I think this is one of the best purchases I ever made, definitely the best of 2024. Thank you 8Bitdo for an incredible product and your refinements and innovation along the way.

Muy buen control, lo uso para jugar en PC y en Switch y es muy cómodo solo tener que mover el switch de la parte de atrás para cambiar el modo, además con la base de carga, no me quedo sin baterÃa nunca.Los gatillos son muy suaves, y los joysticks son muy cómodos y no se resbalan, en generale el control tiene una calidad de construcción muy buena, tal vez el D-Pad podrÃa mejorar, pero considerando todas las funciones que tiene el control, lo recomiendo al 100%.El único inconveniente es que al jugar en PC, hay que configurar los botones A, B, X y Y ya que tienen la plantilla para Switch que tiene estas letras al revés, por lo que por defecto la B será la A, la X la Y y asÃ, pero nada que una configuración rápida no arregle antes de jugar, y ya hecho esto te olvidas.

A lovely controller that has worked solidly for a while now and doesn’t show dirt and oil like many others have. Setup on PC was instant using the USB dongle and it works great in every game I’ve tried. The wireless connection has been mostly solid with only very rare disconnects. Battery life is great, but the charging stand means that you’ll almost never forget to recharge it between sessions. The programmable rear buttons are positioned well and are difficult to give up once you get used to them. The feel of the controller is good. It is not directly modelled off any specific Nintendo or Xbox controller, but fits in well with them. If you like those controllers, you’ll likely like the feel of this one too.

O melhor controle que tive desde que comecei a jogar no PC. Passei por várias marcas e fiquei bastante tempo com o Ipega 9076, que pelo preço entrega um bom desempenho. Ainda assim depois de algum tempo de uso o famoso problema de drift começa a aparecer e prejudicar demais a gameplay. Sendo assim optei por esse, após uma semana de uso só tenho elogios a fazer. O visual é incrÃvel, a pegada é bem confortável, pra conectar é super simples e sem contar que a base de carregamento dá um UP do setup. O controle é extremamente responsivo; tanto os analógicos quanto os botões. A vibração com certeza é um ponto de destaque; creio que configurada pra funcionar exatamente como nos consoles. Tive alguns percaussos referente a entrega, por ser de fora demorou um pouco e ficou um tempo preso na inspeção, fui cobrado porém não paguei por conta as politicas de taxação. No final tudo certo. Simplesmente perfeito!
