Favorite pens
I do a lot of journaling, and I mean ALOT, so I really go through pens. These are my absolute favorites. I love the bright colors. They are extra bold so you donât have to push hard to write, the ink flow is smooth and doesnât get gummy.A few things you need to know: they are bold, meaning the ballpoint is larger than normal or fine pens, which means you go through ink much faster. When it runs out, itâs out. You canât scribble around to get a little more usage. Also, they are shipped with plastic caps on the ball to keep them from leaking so make sure to remove all the plastic or the writing wonât be as smooth. Another thing I do is store the pens with the cap facing up, otherwise the ball can get gummy. Here are a couple of changes Iâd like to see Bic make: put a clear barrel in the vibrant colors so you can see how much ink is left, rather than the opaque one which gives no indication of the ink level. Also, replace the lime green with additional pink, turquoise, dark green, and purple. In my opinion, the lime is uselessâit doesnât show up well.Pricewise, even with the pens you donât use much, this is a great bargain.Highly recommend.

When I got them I was happy because these pens are bold and bright. They write bold and clean. The value for 24 pens is awesome. The quality is superb. Not a single pen missing nor was the package altered. Thank you.

Bic Xtra Bold vs Xtra Life vs Glide Bold
I am a bit of a pen snob. I used to use Uni-ball Jetstream pens. But, then I saw the Bic Glide bold pens at an attractive price, loved them, and never looked back. Now, I see that the price is right on the other Bic pens. So, I am wondering if I could go even cheaper. So, I tried the Bic Glide Bold against the Bic Xtra Bold and the Xtra Life. Long story short, the pens are well named. The Glide pen is heavier and smoother and very easy to write with. The Xtra Bold is a very light pen which means it takes more effort to write with. But, the color is indeed bolder than the Glide. Also, the ink is blobbier than the Glide. The XtraLife on the other hand is lighter, more faint, and scratchier. The above is for black ink. I also compared the Xtra Bold Blue vs Black. The black ink is blobby and uneven. The blue ink is less much less blobby – fewer dots and streaks. And the lines are more even. So, here is where I stand. My #1 is the Bic Glide Bold. Itâs fun to use and makes my writing look good. It will be my go-no for writing in general. My #2 is the Bic Xtra Bold in Blue. This will likely be a distant second because I mostly type so I donât want writing to take effort. I might use these up along with cheap legal pads with thin paper. The others will be throwaway pens that I loan out, jot down quick notes with, and use for contrasting ink with capturing thoughts. I might also use the Xtra Life for drawing fainter lines on unlined paper until they either run out or are lost.

A Good Bold Print
It writes a good bold print for this old guy. Not as thick as a Sharpie but good enough! Recommended!

Wanted a pen who would leave a slightly bolder, more visible ink for notes during work. Fits the bill perfectly.
