Excellent label printer; everything gets a label.
I had an old handheld brother label printer that was big, clunky and cumbersome to use. After using it for quite a few years, I got fed up and decided to buy a modern label printer. I bought, and still use occasionally, the PT-1230PC. That one is way ahead of the handheld label printers, but still has shortcomings; mainly the fact that a power adapter isn’t included, and that the cutter is manual rather than automatic. Print quality also isn’t as sharp as the P710BT. Like I said, I still use that one occasionally, mostly to print temporary/short term labels.
I bought this one because it accepts a huge variety of label tapes, up to 24mm wide, and has an auto cutter. I use this one strictly connected to my PC; no bluetooth/app usage. I prefer the full-fledged p-touch editor software. My main usage of this amazing little printer is for making labels for power adapters, and for labeling my hardware bins with all the various sizes of the nuts, bolts, screws, etc., that I use.
Connectivity is easy; just a micro usb cable from the printer to my PC. USB C would have been nice, considering the price of this printer, but that’s a minor quibble. I love the shape and aesthetic of the printer; I prefer simple designs with soft edges and clean lines, so with the printer being a simple cube shape with rounded corners and edges, works perfectly for me. No hard edges to grab when handling it to change label tapes, which I do often. I do wish it came in the blue color the previous p-touch cube is available in though.
Print quality is great; nice and sharp. I make all my labels in the p-touch editor PC software, which is easy enough. No complaints there. Like all label printers, there’s about 1″ of waste at the beginning of each label. I minimize this by typing out my labels on a single, long label, then use scissors to cut each label individually. That way, I only lose that first inch instead of an inch with every label.
I only buy genuine brother TZe label tapes; I know there’s a ton of aftermarket tapes, I just prefer to stick with genuine tapes. In case I have any issues, brother would be able to provide support/replacements. I mostly use the strong adhesive tapes; specifically TZe-S221 (3/8″ black print on white tape) and TZe-S135 (1/2″ white print on clear tape). I’ll be adding some other colors too. I absolutely love the auto cutter. That alone makes this printer worth the asking price.
In short, I couldn’t be happier with this printer. Unless it was offered in blue, in which case I’d have another one on the way!

This thing works great once you
Installing on my phone was easy, but installing on Windows10 took some time – not really hard but took a few frustrating tries. Brother, are you reading this? The Printer driver was the tricky step – took a few reboots , de-installing and then rebooting, then reinstalling, rebooting again, and the third time it suddenly worked.
The printer itself is really good. A huge step up from every other label maker as you can make nice designs, choose fonts, etc. and make really satisfying labels.

The Only Label Maker Youâll Ever Need
I absolutely love this label maker. Way better than the ones that come with a keyboard. Everything works off your phone or you can connect to a computer. A little bit of learning how to use it, but pretty easy to learn. Ability to save your formatted labels for future use. Comes with two apps that is compatible with the printer. A variety of sizes with different cutting options.

Overall great, few shortcomings
The OEM labels are extremely high quality and both the hardware and software is fantastic. The labels (assuming you use oem tape) are basically indescribable. There are a few “seriously?” things tho.
– Micro USB in 2024? Really?
– With every single print it cuts off a little waste square first. I have no idea why it does this. The OEM labels are very nice so they are pretty expensive. Third party labels are available and the OEM ones are worth the price so I didn’t dock it points for the expensive labels but when you do use the expensive labels having some of it wasted for no reason sucks
– There are 3 apps. You only need one but it’s not explained why there are 3 or what the differences are. iPrint & label is the best one. Design & print 2 feels like nerfed version of iPrint & label, just a worse home screen and less features. I’m not sure why it exists, maybe supposed to be easier? The other one felt like it’s made for professional use, like if it were issued by a company

Was ich erst gar nicht wollte, Etiketten am Mobiltelefon erstellen und drucken. Ist aber so toll, dass das die bevorzugte Variante wird.
Leider verbinde sich der Drucker nicht per Bluetooth mit Windows 11. Da sollte der Hersteller nachbessern.
Was mir auch missfällt, dass am Anfang immer ein Stück Bank abgeschnitten wird. Beim ersten Mal, nach dem Einlegen eines Bandes, da ist das ja noch in Ordnung, aber bei verschiedenen Etiketten, wenn man mehrere verschiedene drucken will, gleich ca. 3cm verschwenden, das ist nicht nachhaltig.
Woolworth-Prinzip: Verschenke die Lampen, verkaufe das Ãl. Und wenn man das auf den Drucker übersetzt, dann wird hier viel Ãl weggekippt. Also immer gleich mehrere Etiketten drucken und verwahren.

Upgraded from a keyboard version of this and have no regrets! Connects by bluetooth and the iOS app is great! easy to do and you can use one of your photos but I would recommend atleast 18mm width eztape so you can see the details a bit better if it was a photo. Otherwise simple photo patterns look great even at 12mm. It has a rechargeable system so doesn’t take like 8 AA batteries like the old versions.
The cons, I do notice it does cut off / wastes about an inch of tape for each tag you create. No matter what the settings are. But then again it was like this for all the old systems as well.
Really like this 4.5/5 stars!
