Great value for the money
I was looking for over the ear replacements for my AirPods Pro’s, after a lot of research someone recommended these to me.For daily driver use, the P100 is a great choice. They aren’t too heavy on the head and they don’t squeeze the head too hard. They come with a nice hard side case, which is nice but could be a little bulky for travel. A slimmer travel option would be a nice addition even if purchased separately. Also included is 2 cables USB-C->USB-C and USB-C->3.5mm.The earcups, made from vegan leather, are pretty comfortable and easily replaceable. They can make my head a little sweaty if it’s a little warm out. I haven’t seen any different materials for these available yet, hoping that changes, either from Cambridge or 3rd party.The sound quality is enjoyable. The app has an adjustable EQ as well. It is a closer sound stage than I would like, but that comes with closed back earphones. I have a set of open back for special situations. I think the sound can be a little on the cooler side, but with some EQ adjustments you can get it where you want it. They are not bass heavy, but I find the bass pretty neutral overall which I prefer.The app has all the settings available including a few layers of ANC and transparency available. There are tactile buttons on the headset as well which I like a lot.Batteries are user serviceable and affordable. I really like this being an advertised feature as well. The battery life is insane. I am very impressed by the life and still have yet to charge mine.The packaging is a simple pull strip and sleeve design. No plastic or twist ties. In fact I reuse the cardboard sleeves for the cables and I love that. There is a lot of environmentally conscious decisions made in the design of these. If that’s important to you, look no further.While I have the ANC can be a little weird I have only noticed that using that 3.5mm cable. It may be a setting on my part, but could also be fixed through updates. So I’m not overly worried about it. There is a card included listing button press control. I need use it more to figure out the best way to use the buttons. Some in app button customizations would be a nice touch as well.For the money I feel these punch a little above their class and don’t get recommended as much as other more popular ANC headphones.

Sound on an Audiophile Level, Despite Noise Cancellation Issues
At this point, it is well-established around the Internet that these headphones have what probably amounts to a design flaw — there are noticeable audio artifacts when using noise cancellation. This results in a faint “puffing” noise when the ANC is on.I returned one unit because of this issue, but the same was true with the second one, and I’ve also read enough reviews of the headphones to conclude that this is a design or manfacturing issue. Whether it’s correctable via a firmwear update remains to be seen.What is equally well established is that, for all intents and purposes, this an audiophile quality Bluetooth headphone that functions at or near the top of the pile.This is of course a subjective issue, but I am among those who can describe these headphones as clearly superior in fidelity to the Focal Bathys, which is $700, and the B&W Px8, which is $600.I have not owned a B&O H95 or a Dali IO-12, so I cannot compare these to headphones in that $1K+ price range. I can tell you I have seen reviews of the Melomania P100 which prefer it over the H95.Because it is a close-back headphone, even in “normal” mode there is enough noise cancellation to satisfy me, which is another reason why the ANC issues don’t bother me.The fact that this is a “vegan” product is not unimportant to me, and B+O’s of lambskin is actually a deal-breaker for me. So I hope Cambridge Audio continues in this vein.These headphones are pretty comfortable, and feel lighter than the Bathys. For overall comfort, for me the B&W PX8 is by far the best, which is why I use that headset when I’m falling asleep to podcasts. But as most people will tell you, the PX8 is not an audiophile quality headphone.If the ANC issues could be resolved either through firmwear or manufacturing changes, this would be a slam-dunk five star rating.The fact that we are even talking about this headphone equalling or exceeding the Bathys, the PX8, and the H93 is astonishing. So if you care about sound quality but need to save some money and aren’t obsessed with ANC, this headphone is essentially a no brainer purchase.As some people have pointed out, if Cambridge Audio could sort out the kinks with the ANC and also raise the sound bar even further, they could release a $600 headphone that could be a game changer. But even at present, the P100 is basically the talk of the tone amongst fans of Bluetooth headphones.

Ich habe die Kopfhörer heute erst bekommen und werde die Rezension falls nötig noch ergänzen.Sound: der Sound ist überzeugend. Die Kopfhörer klingen besser als alles was ich in dieser Preisklasse getestet habe. Bose, Sony, etc.Aber: Der Sound ist leider stark abhängig vom gewählten Modus. Ohne ANC/Transparenz eingeschaltet klingt er recht langweilig. Es fehlen einfach die Bässe und etwas die Höhen, die Mitten sind sehr dominant. Dies lässt sich durch einen V EQ in der App ausgleichen. EQ Einstellungen lassen sich übrigens speichern.Schaltet man aber das ANC oder den Transparenz-Modus ein, klingt der Kopfhörer ohne EQ sehr, sehr gut, ich habe zeitweise die Bässe sogar noch etwas abgesenkt. So klingt der Kopfhörer sehr ausgeglichen, klar, detailliert und eher wie ein doppelt so teures Gerät. Ich vermisse meinen HD650 nicht, wenn ich nur mit diesem Kopfhörer mein Haus verlasse. Außerdem ist zu erwähnen, dass die Kofphörer genug Power haben und man sich keine Sorgen um eine zu geringe Lautstärke machen muss.Zum Rest: Das ANC scheint gut zu sein, auch wenn ich eine Kappe trage, welche eine volle Abdichtung schwieriger macht. Die App funktioniert hervorragend und die Tasten sind einfach besser als nervige Touchflächen.Die Kopfhörer sind etwas schwerer als die der Konkurrenz und nicht so Flach wie ein Bose QC 45 oder ähnliches und stehen schon ein gutes Stück vom Kopf ab, der Sound macht das dann aber wieder wett. Der Kopfhörer sitzt aber trotzdem recht bequem. Das Case ist ziemlich groß, da die Kopfhörer leider nicht faltbar sind.Alles in allem, ein sehr gelungener Kopfhörer der mit allem fertig wird, was man ihm gibt. Von Klassik über Jazz, Rock, Pop, Country bis hin zu Metall.Die letzten drei Stunden mit dem Kopfhörer auf sind wie im Flug vergangen und haben auch nur 4% Akku gebraucht (Mit ANC). Die Angaben dürften also durchaus realistisch sein. Absolut empfehlenswert!Nach einigen Wochen lässt nicht noch anmerken, dass der Bügel etwas schmal und unkomfortabel ist um recht schnell drückt. Eine Stunde hören ist aber für mich gut möglich. Zudem hat der Kopfhörer wenig Halt und sitzt nicht so stabil andere, was auch am höheren Gewicht liegt. Auch die Größe ist ein wenig problematisch, wenn man die Kopfhörer gerne im Rucksack dabei haben möchte, mein 28l Rucksack ist mit dem Case fast halb voll… Die BT Verbindung ist relativ stabil, nur wenn man den Kopfhörer beim Laufen einschaltet funktioniert das oft nicht, nur wenn man stehen bleibt. Ansonsten immer noch sehr zufrieden.

Je cherchais un remplaçant à mon Audio Technica ATH-MSR7 pour gagner en praticité (sans fil et sans dac/ampli externe). Pour être honnête je ne m’attendais pas à conserver le Cambridge, c’était surtout pour tester un nouveau casque BT (j’avais déjà essayé le sony wh-1000xm4, vite revendu car trop basseux et “fouillis” pour moi, ainsi que le Stax S3 qui m’avait bien plus malgré une finition très plastique et une scène sonore un peu trop resserrée à mon goût en comparaison du MSR7).Une fois le Cambridge calé sur ma tête, j’ai tout de suite été très agréablement surpris par la restitution sonore (critère principal pour moi, l’ANC n’étant pas indispensable dans mon cas). C’est un casque que je qualifierais de très musical (je me suis surpris à taper du pied sur mes morceaux de jazz préférés, notamment sur l’album We get requests d’Oscar Peterson). J’ai beaucoup apprécié la scène sonore qu’il propose, se rapprochant du Audio Technica qui est déjà très bon pour un casque fermé. Les mediums sont bien mis en avant, les basses ne prédominent pas et sont impactantes sans être “baveuses” (je les baisse parfois un peu en fonction du style musical via l’equalizer de l’application) et les aigus très bien restitués et sans aucune sibilance. Je pourrais juste regretter parfois un peu de clarté. Bref, sur le plan audio c’est du très bon.Pour le reste le casque est très confortable, aucune douleur malgré plusieurs heures d’écoute. Le maintien pourrait être un peu meilleur (si je penche la tête en avant le casque a tendance à glisser légèrement). Je n’ai pas testé en profondeur l’ANC car peu utile dans mon cas. Que dire de l’autonomie qui est énorme (100h en théorie sans ANC !), après 8h d’écoute le casque n’a perdu que 5% batterie. Et le fait que la batterie soit remplaçable est une très bonne chose également (en espérant qu’on puisse la trouver encore dans quelques années). L’étui de transport est de bonne qualité quoiqu’un peu massif (il faut également présenter le casque dans le bon sens pour pouvoir le ranger).Je tiens à préciser que je n’ai pas eu l’occasion de le comparer au Focal Bathys ou BW Px8 mais la catégorie de prix n’est pas la même (encore que certains testeurs donnent le Cambridge aussi bon, je serais curieux de faire une écoute comparative !
