Easy Setup
This HDMI converter for FireTV is pretty neat! I spend a lot of time waiting in the truck at my sonâs baseball practices. Iâm usually watching something on my phone, now I can play it on the âbigâ screen. The video and sound is great, the only negative is there is a little latency with the sound, but I donât think that has anything to do with this device because I get the same latency when watching video on my phone but playing the sound via Bluetooth. I had never used FireTV before (I had to purchase one to use with this converter), and I donât like the format quite as much as Roku, but itâs the same concept.I am not sure why the listing says this doesnât work in trucks. It made no sense to me that a truck versus a car would make any difference – that should have no impact on CarPlay. This works fine in my truck, so I am not sure why they say it doesnât.

Instructions are so tiny you canât even read, couldnât get pass the update part since it will not connect to hotspot, looked for help on web page, there was none.

Buggy
It works – when it works. It’s a bit buggy as sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn’t. The. biggest issue though is that for updates and connection, the password has to be 12345678 for connecting to a hotspot. Pretty unsecure. Overall it doesn’t really offer much that isn’t offered by various apps – other than viewing on the car’s installed screen. It works – but just not well enough to rave about it.

Pricey but I think it’s worth it
I’ve tried a number of Apple Wired CarPlay video adapters and in general they all work pretty well. This one is definitely the most expensive I’ve tried thus far but the unique arrangement of letting you directly mount a video stick (Amazon Fire Stick) to it saves having an extra cable between the Stick and the adapter, and the resulting floppy mess of a video adapter connected to a loose Stick. What this does is let you put a Fire Stick directly on the adapter, they connect directly via a video connector on the end and a side connector for power; you have one united unit and one short USB cable. So much neater and space-efficient. I’ve posted a photo of mine; there’s a rubber band type thing that goes around it to hold the Stick and the adapter together and to keep the side-connector attachment firmly in place. Nice and neat, so much better than the jumble of two devices and two USB cables the other CarPlay video setups use. They all do work, but this one is much tidier and ‘finished’ looking in use.

L’altro giorno ho avuto la possibilità di provare il Convertitore CarlinKit Car HDMI Fire TV Stick durante una sosta, e devo dire che è stato una vera svolta. Ho potuto guardare un film di Amazon Prime Video direttamente sul display della mia auto con un audio eccellente dalle casse. L’installazione è stata semplice grazie alla funzione plug and play, e il dispositivo ha funzionato perfettamente con il mio cavo CarPlay e il Fire TV Stick. Questo adattatore è davvero un must per chi passa molto tempo in auto e vuole godersi i propri contenuti video preferiti senza problemi o chi ha figli che voglione vedere cartoni animati.
