Easy to install when you follow the instructions
I had a Dymo Label Maker 450 Twin Turbo installed on my iMac. Lately it has been going a little nuts. When I would ask it to print a label it would put out five labels. Font size would be wrong, something internal was going on. Yeah, the postage printing was a nice thing to have, when Dymo did it. But since the forced switch to Endicia, it’s more of a pain than a convivence. If your running a business that would be one thing, but mine was for personal use and my account balance is almost zero.So in researching the Dymo 550 Label Maker, I read a lot of good, “but…;” “doesn’t install on Mac”, and some down right horror stories. So I waited until I had enough of fighting my old label maker and order this model. I must tell, following the directions, installation was a breeze. When I turned it on and went to install the printer on my iMac, I found it was already listed. Printed like a champ. The only downside is you need to purchase their labels specifically for this printer, which I find no more than an inconvenience than anything else. I didn’t need tech support.Bottom line, great little printer.

The Worst Electronic Product I Have Ever Used
Not potentially the worst. Not among the worst. Not probably the worst. THE WORST ELECTRONIC PRODUCT I HAVE EVER USED. I don’t print all that many labels, but I have had to spend, conservatively, on average a half hour on the phone with Dymo each time I tried to print one. The software (Dymo Connect) is awful: It is utterly unintuitive (example: to get to an address already in the program, you first have to click on “add,” and it goes downhill from there with multiple steps that are far from obvious). It is “buggy,” in the exact words of one of the tech reps I had to contact to do something simple. Why doesn’t Dymo fix it? Example: The program insists on super-imposing Dymo’s mailing address on the ones I want to print, and there seems not to be a way to get the program not to do that. Does Dymo believe that we are pen pals? Etc etc etc. Finally, I tried to print a label a few days ago; the system simply would not work. I called Dymo tech support, again, to find out how to get it to work, and after a full hour — yes, a full hour — on the phone with the tech guy, who took over my computer with TeamViewer so that he could see what the problem was, he couldn’t get it to work. I asked to speak with a supervisor; “he might get back to you in a few days.” That was the final straw: I demanded a full refund for the label printer and for the Dymo labels that I purchased because the Dymo lable printer will not work with any non-Dymo lables, itself an infuriating condition. They now say that the refund will be approved, but I’ll believe it when I see it. DO NOT BUY THIS LABEL PRINTER. And I would be deeply suspicious, frankly, of any Dymo product. BZ

    Works great!
Had one when I used to work in security and found a great deal on Amazon for one. I use it for labeling different things around the house and it works great! The tape roll is easy enough to swap out and it tracks how many are left for you.

    Customer Service is horrid
We had this printer for less than a year and it was giving us trouble saying there were no labels in the printer or we weren’t using DYMO labels when we were, and it would be a full roll. The first-time customer service e-mailed us what to do to trouble shoot and it worked after the second try. Then a few months later the printer did the same thing, but the trouble shooting would not work. Customer service then told us we had to send in the printer we currently had to get the warranty and would not send us the new one until they processed the current one. I told them we could not go without a printer as my products have to be labeled and my husbands items for his business legally have to be labeled as well. The customer service did not care and kept refusing to send us the new one until they got the broken one. So I had no choice but to get this one sent out. Took a week for them to get it. Within that week I constantly was begging them to send us the new one so we had a printer. One lady told us yes she would overnight one. I got an e-mail the order was made but then I got an e-mail it was cancelled. I called and got the original agent and he said he would create a new order. So when I asked if this one would be overnighted that day I was ignored and ignored and ignored and the man would not give me a straight answer. Then I asked for his supervisor and he avoided answering that as well. They claim they have mine at the top of the list and would process and overnight the new printer as soon as they got my printer. Here I am a day after my printer arrived to them with no tracking number for the new printer and still printerless. This has affected both my husband and my own business. I will never ever but a DYMO product again. I am absolutely disgusted and still have yet to be put in contact with a supervisor. I will be searching for a new address label printer that is anything but DYMO. Absolutely terrible customer service. Also, the fact the printer lasted us only 15 months is worth the 1 star review as well.

It’s a Dymo printer – it works well
The best name in label printers is Dymo. Yeah, they’re pricey but you get what you pay for. Great for the office, home and church and we use it to label everything from closet space to shelves at our church. If you want the best in label printers Dymo is what you want. The only thing is you HAVE to use authentic Dymo labels for this machine as it detects if your paper is authentic or not. If you use third party labels, chances are the Labelwriter will not recognize it and you will get an error message. Dymo labels are usually more expensive than other labels so if you don’t want to spend too much money on labels then this machine is NOT for you. But if you do have the budget to buy authentic labels you will get the best label printer that money can buy. I see alot of complaints about this issue online, and I am wondering how long Dymo can keep this up as I see smaller business owners and individuals that print alot of labels might see this as a huge investment and will opt for other label making machines.

I use this to print both return address and mailing labels. Extremely easy to use, I am even able to include my company logo (black and white) on the return address label. I recommend.

I love this printer, I have used the sheets before and by the time I am half way done the page the labels are greyish and getting darker with each pass through printer. This works great, and yes labels are a little more expensive but I dont waste them.
