I was assigned to take care of staff headshots at work, and decided to just use my iPhone because the camera is so good on it, and, letâs be real, do any of us even own actual cameras anymore? Iâm not a photographer, so I donât lol. But I was still put in charge of a photography project and needed to do the project right.So I found this awesome tool, and loved the problems it helped me solve:âï¸Set a consistent frame to make cropping and editing the photos a bit easier- I just set this up in front of the chair my coworkers sat on for their pictures, then raised or lowered it a bit depending on their height.âï¸ Neutralize fluorescent office lighting and âwarm upâ my coworkerâs faces- I dimmed the lighting just slightly in the office room I photographed in, but turned on the round light for each photo. This kept the lighting consistent and made editing easier when I was working to make the photo elements the same across each photo.âï¸No shaky hands- just put your phone in and start clicking to take the pics! I didnât really use the provided remote, but that could have made things even better!For this project, I give it a 5/5Bonus points- itâs easy to take apart and store in the box it came in, so traveling with to and from work was easy. It was also very easy to store in the box while I kept it under my desk for a couple days.

Makes professional meetings so much better
Since I started working from home and having to do video meetings I’ve been looking for ways to make the way I look on video more professional. I’ve tried alot of different lighting options and this little $20-$25 light has been the best thing I’ve tried so far. You have 3 different tones of light and several brightness settings within each one. My video looks so much clearer now, and it is way more professional than sitting on video with bad lighting like alot of the people I work with do. This alone gives me a step-up in the work place environment because it shows that I put forth effort to make myself look more professional. I’ve had no issues with my light and can usually get around 2.5-3 hours before I recharge it, and this is using one of the brightest settings. I’ve also used it for taking indoor pictures and it’s been great. I definitely recommend this one over most of the other options out there. ALSO – It’s easy to attach to most things (including a phone) and have multiple layout options.

Nice and easy compact light for your desk and video calls
We tried this light and found it very useful for the video calls. I have tried a bunch of selfie ring lights in the past but the problem was that they would block my view on the monitor and consume a lot of space on the desk. This light, on the contrary, is compact and comes with built in battery. So, when charged, I can be innovative on how I want to light me for the video calls. This can easily replace a bulky ring light on your desk if you want to reclaim your space on the desk.Couple of things I found very useful about this light:1. Compact sizeWe found that this light is very unobtrusive when it comes to adding light to your video calls. I can clip it on top my monitor / to my mic or headphone stand/ clip on top of my camera when I am in the kitchen / clip on the iPad when the kid is FaceTiming grandparents. 2. Built in batteryThe built in battery is the game changer for this device from the products I have used before. The built in battery makes it very mobile. The charge lasted for almost a week for me. The USB-C charging port helped me get it charged with my other charging cables that were already plugged in not having to have another plug for this charger. There is a battery level indicator which keeps us honest on the juice remaining on our battery.3. Mounts pointsThe mount points makes a lot of difference. This light comes with 2 slots for mounting one on the longer side and one on the shorter side. It comes with a tripod mount which worked well with my existing guerrilla pods and mini table top tripods without any fuss. The other mount comes with a clip which makes it very useful for attaching to a lot of devices. We got innovative on clipping it on various places. The best we found so far was clipping it on the back of the driver seat for our kid to talk on a video call during our drive in the night. It was great to be able to light up our kid for the call with grand parents when we were driving in the night without turning on the car illuminations distracting the driver.The light quality is decent. It serves the purpose of lighting up for a video call. We were able to use it mostly as a light aid for video call and as a flash light during our travels at the end of the day. It served both these purposes well. The device allows changing shades (white/warm/etc) allowing to change tone for the video call. There is ability to adjust the brightness levels if itâs directly on the face. We dim it if itâs clipped to the web cam closer to the face.Pros:1. Compact size. Helps reclaim your space on the desk.2. Built in battery. (Makes it portable and travel friendly)3. Flexible mount points (makes it easy to add light in different scenarios)Cons:1. The light feels a little harsh at higher brightness. So, parts of the face might get burned out if the brightness level are not properly adjusted.2. The lighting is not as even as compared to other ring lights but that is to be expected given form factor of the light.3. Clip on the mount is a little small to clip on the thick slabs. I was able to clip it on the monitor but not to the side of the standing desk. So, clip size might limit some of its uses.

the light stopped working
I bought this light in April of 2023. It was a great light, easy to use, light weight, durable but the lowest setting is very bright and out of no where the light stopped working June of 2024. It didnât charge or come on after a year of use. Iâm skeptical of ordering another, Iâm considering going with a different brand. I just wish the warranty was longer than 30 days if it was 2 years I would consider repurchasing.
