Perfect little mSATA reader
I had an old Windows tablet die but I wanted to get the data off of it. I opened up the tablet, took out the mSATA hard drive and used this to read the contents. Worked perfect!

It worked so I could retrieve some files from a mSata drive. I first hooked it to a cord and it got hot and actually shut down do to thermal over-temp. Second time I plugged it straight into the USB and it seemed to work better, but still got very hot. Could maybe add a heatsink or maybe it depends on the drive also.

Tried to use with a Samsung M.2 SATA drive from an old laptop (MZNLN256HCHP). Transfer speed using an USB adapter was over 300MB/s. Using this adapter was 2MB/s. Tried swapping several times between USB enclosure and this adapter to verify. I don’t have any other SATA M.2 drives for comparison so it is getting returned for another vendor’s product. Got b/c of Prime Day special and didn’t need the mSATA function, maybe additional complexity is the cause?

Me sirvió para reparar una instalación windows como disco externo. El disco es un SSD mSATA de una Lenovo T430. Tenga cuidado que no es para los más modernos nvme o pcie. No trae carcasa, el disco queda al aire libre, solo para uso puntual. Trae los tornillos que luego los SSD no traen. UPDATE: Mi circuito es diferente a las fotos de 2021. No falta nada y es un chip diferente. ASMEDIA ASM225CM. Todo sigue bien.

It works, I used it to clone my 120 gb mSta to 512 GB mSata and this adapter worked as a charm.. I had one mSATA and one SATA HDD connector, I used this adapter connecting to SATA HDD connector, and put new 512 gb SSD to mSATA port and transferred the bootable by cloning.. removed the HDD adaptor put in my old HDD and booted without any issues from new 512 GB mSATA. Awesome.
