Most convenient guitar I own. Awesome for the beach/travel
I have a decent collection of American PRS and Fender guitars so it felt odd to buy a guitar at this price point. It has two huge tricks up its sleeve worth the buy. First, it is not made of wood. I like to bring a guitar to the beach but can not risk the heat and humidity damage with any of my primary guitars. This guitar is not sensitive to heat and moisture AND it costs about 1/5 as much. Perfect solution. The kicker is that it plays perfectly fine. Maybe not the same as the finer instruments but completely reasonable and in line with the easy of most electrics (vs acoustics which can take tad more hand strength). Then there’s the built in speaker and effects. They are very good and easily adjusted. I can apply effects and change their parameters via iPhone and store into one of four “slots” in the guitar’s memory. They the main button allows you to scroll through the four settings and no more need for the phone. The reverbs and chorus are very nice and the distortions are as good as you’ll get from a small speaker. The volume tops out around the same an acoustic guitar. So it’s appropriate for strumming and singing without an amp but not more. Pick it up, walk around the house, and noodle with four good tones. No wires. That is the ultimate practice rig if you ask me.

Final thoughts:5-stars, a no brainer of a purchase.I think Enya knocked it out of the park with their all carbon X4 Acoustic guitar (I paid $799 for that instrument, would gladly pay it again despite the price actually coming down since then!). I bought the NEXG and was really disappointed with it, but decided to give this Nova Go Sonic a try anyway. I am really impressed and can wholeheartedly recommend it to solid electric players for an upgrade to your wooden instrument collection without breaking the bank. I donât think you will regret it.Pros:*Great shape, smooth matte finish, stealthy/classy look and feel*Light weight*Great neck, very smooth, low action, access to high frets is amazing*Great rounded smooth frets*Quality AlNiCo pickups, clear, quiet, balanced and unique neck and bridge tones; Series/parallel switching maintains humbucking and cuts output like coil tap*Quality switches and potentiometer*Feels and plays like a $1000+ instrument at a fraction the cost; remarkable value*Built-in amp with speaker and various effects makes practice super easy and fun*Some of the built-in OD effects play just like the venerable Sustainiac (again at a fraction the cost)*I expect this instrument to last forever despite typical storage/jostling/bumping/playing/general use.*It really sounds great amplified, not unlike other of my quality H-H solid body guitars (again, at a fraction the cost).Cons:*Wish it had never-wear stainless frets for this otherwise very well-appointed instrument*While most of the effects are interesting and fun, some of the built-in effects are either dull or too harsh (but they are all customizable in the app, pretty fun to mess with for practice, and it is not necessary to use these when plugged into your amp, it plays it like a standard double humbucker solid guitar when âOFFâ). I donât think the effects could replace quality pedals or external DSP effects, but it is not priced to do this.*Neck is a little bit flexible for composite (like my wood instruments, I can flex the neck fore/aft to get flat/sharp tones, which I wouldnât expect from carbon), but Iâm sure it is stronger than any wood, and the truss rod adds additional strength and adjustment. Obviously there is no scarf joint (or any joint for that matter) to fail.Short video of my 13 year-old doing his classical guitar stuff on this Enya just to demonstrate the low action and clean tones. Amazon made me compress and reduce quality due to size, but the audio gets the point across. The amp is dry, all effects are coming from the guitar onboard effects.

In short, I feel that it is entry level in nature but crafted like a guitar costing much much more. It is very refreshing to see this kind of instrument available. I am a 72 year old and have been playing guitar since 1964. This is my third purchase from Enya. I have a substantial collection of guitars and amps accumulated during my years of playing both personally and professionally.⢠The neck is perfect, the frets are flawless, better than Squier Affinity ($250.00) and Gibson!⢠The pickups are adequate for the guitars price point. The split coil function is great!⢠All switches and pots are apparently high quality and are very smooth and solid feeling.⢠I have yet to plug into an amp because I feel that would defeat the purpose.⢠The tuning keys are better than most Asian guitars. I am very happy with them.⢠The sounds are impressive for players in the beginning and semi-intermediate stages.⢠I got it in white and it is beautiful. My wife wants to hang it on the wall in the den.As you know, your main sonic competition are the Fender modelling amps with their internet support. I know that you will continually seek to improve and expand your target market to include seasoned players. In short, I think every beginner should have this model and I intend to recommend it to every beginner I encounter and to anyone who asks. Hopefully there will be an upgraded (understandably more expensive) version to offer to skilled players. I will tell others that this guitar should not be âleft in the carâ as many reviewers have stated. A beginner may not understand that sensitive electronics are susceptible to heat damage much like cell phones.I will have to return the guitar because I probably will not use it much only because of my background, This does not in any case reflect the quality of this instrument. I will probably end up with one of your acoustic guitars (which you CAN leave in the car).Recommendations:⢠Consider a joint venture with Bose. The sound difference would be immense. Iâm sure the price would skyrocket.⢠The gig bag is great but not as good as the ½ size acoustic I got from you, but itâs fine.⢠Continue to improve on website for tone changes. As an electric guitar, it’s pretty decent. Lightweight, ergonomic, seems sturdy and reliable. It came setup pretty nicely out of the box, good action, good intonation, mostly in tune (given it was transported and changed climate surely). Playable out of the box. The pickups sound fine, frets are fine, zero nut is nice to have. No complaints on it as a guitar.But the party gimmick, built-in modeler and tuner, is AWESOME!Don’t get me wrong – this will *not* replace dedicated pedals and amps. The modeller is very basic, and the effects don’t sound great; reverb is fine-ish, distortion and drive are OK, delay is meh at best. The speaker can resonate at certain frequencies and feedbacks like crazy. Overall, it doesn’t exactly sound like professional setup :-)But who cares! That’s not what it’s for! What it’s for is that you can take this guitar outside of your studio, pick it up on the couch, bedroom, porch, park, cottage, picnic, backyard, *wherever*, and play an electric guitar without any other bits and pieces and cables and power and headphones and so on. It is LIBERATING and an absolute joy to play.If you’re experienced, this will not replace your setup even a little bit, but it’s a great addition with great freedom of movement.If you’re a beginner, I honestly think this is not a bad way to start. As an electric guitar, it’s perfectly fine, so the built-in modeller and speaker are just a very nice convenient extra bonus, and it WILL encourage you to play and learn 🙂

Playability and action due to zero fret are amazing. The frets desperately needed polishing, you can feel them catch a bit when bending notes, nothing some 000 steel wool wouldn’t fix. Not going to knock of a star for that as overall, I’m extremely pleased with the build and the onboard speaker is surprisingly good. Not tinny at all, depth of sound is impressive. The pickups are practically noiseless when used as a “conventional” electric guitar. I had to get used to the carbon fibre fretboard, it’s a unique feel. But, will last likely forever without issues, so it’s worth the adjustment period. To be fair, I was expecting less guitar for the price, this instrument punches above it’s class for sure.
