Best I’ve used
I was getting tired of hitting my old electronic kit and wanted to get back to my acoustic kit, but I had the same problem as before – I don’t live in a place where I can play at any hour. So, I looked for ways around it, and came across these. Plus: amazing sound control, including the bass and cymbals. Minus: It won’t feel like a real kit, but it’s the best you can do with the available options. Plus: Cheapest option I could find. Minus: It will cost upwards of $100 to outift a typical kit, assuming you use more than one crash cymbal and/or have additional drums. Plus: It provides a great workout, because almost all the stick bounce is gone. Minus: The workout is so good that you won’t be able to play as long as you can on a regular kit. All said, the best compromise I can find.

Nice mute pack. Super simple and does the job. Good stick response. Practice at full strength with a mutiny by the 2 octogenarians in the house (the wife actually doesnât mind. Not so with the elders). Snare is the loudest. Hard to mute that effectively. Good selection of extra, single mutes if the packs don’t cover everything.

Mostly VERY good
These SoundOff by Evans drum head mufflers do a really great job at reducing how loud my drums are yet still let a little of the drum sound thru, esp the toms. The bass drum muffler is OK but I had to re-glue one part of the rubber where it meets the bass drum beater…not a big deal. The rebound and feel are pretty good…a little bit less rebound than the real heads but it’s not like hitting a pillow either. Though they WORK, I wasn’t a fan of the cymbal mutes, cuts all the ring off. I ended up buying the Zildjian quiet cymbals I forget the model name. My only negative?? If you put one of these SoundOff by Evans on your snare-drum, just doesn’t sound or feel right at all. I ended up buying a 14 inch Aquarian muffler JUST for the snare and it is beyond awesome. Overall though…these Evans mufflers do a good job…there’s a tad of some rubber smell but nothing terrible, gets less and less with time…They do the job I’d say.

Low quality
Looks like I’m in the minority, but I was very disappointed in this mute set. Within 2 months the contact pad on the bass mute had come unglued and fallen off. The bounce is completely unrealistic to me, and the pad for my floor tom won’t stay put on the head. It keeps wanting to slide off when I play. I wish I could recommend an alternative, but I can’t. I wouldn’t buy this again given the chance.

Fusion Set Listing wrong
The fusion set listing, the one with the cymbal mutes, has a 13″ tom mute. That is wrong. It comes with a 10″ tom mute. The rest of the listing is correct. I ordered an extra 10″ mute because of this. The 10″ mute works as a cushion on a cajon and a C2 rower.

Definitely Reduces Sound
Bought these as a favor to my neighbors. The tom pads significantly reduce sound, and while the feel and bounce of the mute pad is not identical to the actual drumhead, it is still very fun and playable. The cymbal/hi-hat mutes kill all resonation and most of the sound all-together. The bass drum is still probably the loudest with the mutes on, but it doesn’t have the same punch and volume. Overall, this was an excellent buy. It makes the kit much, MUCH more quiet while still fun to play on and a feel that is realistic enough to practice on.

You can still hear enough sound. These mutes muffle great and Iâm sure my neighbours appreciate it. Finding the right fit was difficult at first since I bought my daughterâs drums used, so knowing your setup before buying if you donât have a standard drum kit is a must.

The quality of the rubber and the sound is just nice to play in an apartment. However there will be some rubber smell for few days if your drum in a sleeping room. Happy with the product
