Excellent external SSD
I did not test it at 1GB/s, as I did not have the HP laptop performing at that transfer speed.It behaves very well, robust design with a metallic enclosure that could my guess) act as an electromagnetic shield too and kind of heatsink.The shape does not take into account the space needed when there are more USB aside at the minimum distance. This is why I did not give a 5 star.

Composite metal case that gives the drive more protection than if it was plastic like most.
The drive worked well as expected. I was surprised that the case material was some sort of composite metal that gave it a lot more protection than if it was plastic. If I accidentally stepped on it that it could survive, as opposed to if it had been plastic case then it would’ve been crushed. Unfortunately, I’ve misplaced it and may need to get another one if I don’t find it soon.

Died after 3 months.
I paid about 50 dollars for this fanxiang 1TB External Portable SSD and used it in my laptop for about 3 months. It performed just fine and I was happy to have it. Then one day when I was using it to transfer some files from my laptop PC to my desktop PC, I noticed it was very hot to the touch. Shortly after that my desktop PC started giving me an error notification that my USB device was damaged and Windows could not identify it. I tried it in a couple other PCs and got the same notification. I think I’ll replace it with a SanDisk or some other SSD flash drive with a well known brand name and solid reputation.

Performante, ca aucun doute. Conception tres robuste, elle fait son poids dans un alliage sympa. Par contre deux defauts:1/ le cache port est encombrant et pourra vous empêcher de mettre cette clé usb dans pas mal de ports proches (genre arriere de boitier, ports en facade) et il n’est pas amovible.2/ Sa détection dans windows se fait toujours en deux temps. elle monte, puis disparait pour revenir apres environ 5 secondes. Idem sur smart TV, parfois elle n’apparait pas tout de suite.

Used it for about a month or so. Quite chunky/slightly heavy. I thought it was an aluminium exterior but the description shows zinc alloy. I do actually prefer the USB A port.. The C port is quite small and might not support it very well.Tested with CrystalDiskMark ,CrystalDiskInfo , Atto , AS SSD and HD Tune pro. It got very warm when doing a lot of writing..not burning hot , I’ve seen worse. Pictures attached , One of the CrystalDiskMark is slower using a USB 3.1 gen port still good speeds for a gen 1 port I think 464MB/s read , 450MB/s write. All tested with 109GB on the drive from 477GB of formatted memory. HD Tune pro didn’t drop much after putting 245GB on it. I’ve seen “well” known high speeds cards drop drastically after 20GB down to 50MB/s
