Best in Class and Above this Class at this price – Just got 2nd one in today FLP-90 TCS
Out of the box setup is (for my taste and playing) excellent. Intonation is spot on, fret spacing is even, and stainless frets are level. Action is very low and fast without touching the truss rod. I made sure to remove the protective film over the pickups and plugged into a Roland micro-cube amp for quick test. Pickups sounded pretty hot at full volume on guitar, and they will definitely drive your distortion to any level you choose. Turning back volumes on pots tamed the guitar as I would expect. Actual impedance (Kilohms) on bridge 9.67, neck 7.79, combined 4.31. Neck coul be a bit lower for some tastes, but without swapping out the pups you can solve the “heat: with the volume pots. If you like 50s-60s-70s sounds this guitar will do it all with no single coil hum. I was able to go from growling bass to twinkling harmonic chimes with no problems. Set the switch to center, or neck only with a little treble gain and got a nice clean jazz for fingerpicking style. Select bridge with center tone, add the effects of your choice and play rockabilly to the heaviest metal. Switch back to both and kick up the treble for a nice country twang. My primary guitars (electric) are an Epiphone Thayer Signature Les Paul and an original 78 Ovation Preacher both of which cost well over $1000.00. I will not go so far as to say the Fojill is their equal, but it gives both a heck of a run at <1/4 the cost. If you are a new player, or and acoustic player wanting to try electric, this is a good starting point which may be suitable for years to come. Unlike the other Fojill electrics I have purchased (now at #7), this model has a set neck of very straight aand close grained roasted canadian maple, and the grain is oriented to minimize bowing. Keep this in a reasonable humidity and temperature range and it should last quite a long time. Also note that this model does have flat back and the front belly curve you expect on the Les Paul style. Only one issue I personally found is a slightly more rounded neck, but several of my other guitars have the same profile. Not at all a negative per se, but noticeable when changing guitars while playing. This guitar I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND for new or first time electric players, and the same goes for anyone who wants/needs a Les Paul champagne sound on a beer budget. If this lasts three years of my playing and lugging around as I will do, I will know I got more than my money's worth of use and enjoyment. I can't wait to wear out the "stock" strings so I can try a few of my favorites to see how/if the sound can be improved for performance.ADDENDUM Found same model different color (FLP-90RM TCS) on sale here at $189.00, and I had to have it - needed or not. Quick run down: neck impedance 7.92K, bridge 9.81K, both 4.38K. Finish is beautiful with no visible flaws. As above, setup and intonation are dead-on with two exceptions. A string saddle needed tiny adjustment to correct sharp tone at 12th fret harmonic. There is a very slight but sometimes noticable fret buzz at 7th fret on high E string. Corrected both issues in 2 minutes or less, and I have another very playable LP in the studio. Wasted a couple hours playing when I should have been working, but hey, its my own time to waste!FOJILL rules the entry to intermediate range as far as I am concerned. Collectors -you need this guitar! I suspect it will be a sought after model in decades to come just like the 60s and 70s Japanese versions of American made models of the era. I won't edit this review when I buy another one, but I certainly will be buying more from Fojill.

    amazing quality for the money
guitar arrived well packed and undamaged.a few small imperfections in the finish.action was acceptable and frets were very nicely finished.no sharp edges on fret board from fret ends.intonation was close and holds tune very well.the pickups sound very good for a guitar in this price range.all the controls work very well and opening the covers reveals some very clean wiring inside the guitar.you can take this out of the box and tune it..plug it in and have some fun with it just as it is or if you know a little about guitars you could do a set-up and some fret polishing and have a nice instrument that plays as well as any guitar worth three times this amount of money.if you are on the fence about ordering due to quality concerns it is a playable guitar right out of the box.I have been building and modding guitars for thirty years and i was very surprised by how nice this guitar is for the money.I have spent a little time going over it to fix its little faults and now nobody would ever guess how little i paid for it.very happy with my purchase

    Happy little accident
This is one of those cases where I’m happy I got the wrong item. The guitar I ordered was supposed to come with a capped maple fretboard, which looked pretty neat, but the one I received looks to have a rosewood fretboard. Which looks absolutely amazing with the abalone inlays.Neck:The action is set really low and there’s no string buzz with a light to medium attack. The fretboard radius is pretty flat (almost PRS like) and the neck is very slim in comparison to most Les Paul-style guitars. The nut was also cut perfectly and upon inspection seems to be a genuine bone nut.Weight:The weight is light for a Les Paul (a tiny bit over 8 pounds) so it’s super comfortable to play for long periods.Pickups:The pickups on this thing is really what blew me away. Everything up until me plugging it in was great, but I held my breath when I hooked this bad boy up to my Kitana. For a lot of lower end/ overseas guitars there’s always somewhere they cut corners.I thought it would be the pickups. I was very, very wrong. The clarity from these pickups (supposedly Alnico V’s) is nothing short of astounding for the price I paid. It sounds almost like a fat single coil on low volumes, and then gets nice and overdriven when the volume is turned up. This actually sounds more versatile—tone wise—than my strat. I don’t know how Fojill did it.Wrap-Up:Of course the elephant in the room is they straight up sent me what I didn’t order. If you were deadset on the maple fretboard you would be understandably upset. But I really love the rosewood(?) fretboard it came with, so for me this thing is a 8/10 flat. There are some finishing flaws like the poly finish being a little thicker in hard to see areas. But it’s fair to say if you’re paying $200 for a guitar with stainless steel ball-end frets, a bone nut and Alnico V pickups, you can’t really complain much.Since Amazon doesn’t give me an option for 4.5 stars, I’m giving it 5 stars. If you do order this, just bear in mind that errors will occur, and you’re not guaranteed to get exactly what you ordered. Luckily returns are a few clicks away. Thanks for reading.

They should have plugged in before they shipped
Guitar looked nice but when I plugged in, the bridge pick up did not work.

    Omg
For the second time in a row, they sent me the wrong guitar! But, wow, it’s so awesome I don’t even care, this guitar is excellent and top-shelf!It was supposed to be an orange burst with a maple fretboard, but the one that arrived had a rosewood fretboard…and its absolutely beautiful! Flawless finish, with gorgeous abalone inlays, plays great, looks great and sounds great! Thanks Fojill!
