Works great for controlling outdoor lights
We got this smart plug for our Christmas lights and it works great. We have several GHome switches in our house and have been pleased with them all. The app is very user friendly and intuitive.This switch was extremely simple to add to the app and get set up. Most of the time with these devices they need to update the firmware on the first use, and it automatically prompts you when setting it up and takes no time at all. I like that because it makes sure on your first use the product is going to be as up to date as possible.Both sides of the switch are independently programable via the app which makes it very handy for multiple items to get powew. You can choose to have the sockets activate at a set time. You can program it for different days of the week to do different things. It is extremely versatile and easy to use.We have it hooked up under a covered area so I can’t speak to its weather proofing, but given their reputation I would believe whatever the listing says about it. It’s time to upgrade your old light timer to something like this….you won’t regret it!

Alexa Tip. Same Weight and Cord Length as Other Leading Brands. Set Up with Gosund App.
I have a bunch of these outdoor dual smart outlets from different brands. I use them in my greenhouse and studio, as well as in my outdoor spaces. This smart plug ticks all the boxes. It’s easy to setup, no hub required. It works with Alexa and Smartthings once it’s been set up with the gosund app. It doesn’t work with IFTT, nor does the listing state that it does.FYI, the Gosund app has over 80k downloads from the IOS App Store.Several reviewers have commented on the short length of the cord and the weight of the outlet. The cord length at about 9 inches is fairly standard. I believe these IP64 weather resistant plugs are designed to Hang to reduce the chance of water getting into the outlets. I am not a fan of this design, but it seems to be the standard.Second the weight of the outlet at about 9.5 oz is also pretty standard, if anything, this is a bit lighter than other brands.If you are using plus with Alexa and IOS, here’s what I did.1. Download gosund app. I had create a login. I used a one time email address. It sends a pin to the email address to continue setup.2. Give the app access to location and bluetooth (I turned that access off immediately after setup).3. Plug in outlet and push the button on the top of the outlet.4. Follow easy instructions on Gosund app to connect the outlet which is mainly typing in your wifi access point name and pwd.4. If you’ve used a one time (disposable) email address for the Gosund app, don’t use the Gosund app to connect to Alexa. Close the Gosund app.5. Open the alexa app. Add the skill Gosund (click More in bottom right hand corner of Alexa app, then Skills).6. Link to the Gosund app FROM the Alexa app.7. Alexa actually found 3 devices for this outlet: the outlet, plug 1 and plug 2. Follow instructions on alexa app.Overall I like this outlet. It’s a respectable addition to my smart outlet gear.

Great build quality and excellent performance
The build quality is solid. The setup was a breeze. I love to be able to control the switch and set the timer from my phone. It’s incredibly convenient. Plus the weather resistant design gives me peace of mind because I am going to connect it to the rope lights in my backyard for decoration. Good job Ghome and highly recommended!

Great outdoor wireless plug!
Works as advertised. Just make sure to use a 2.4 GHz network and take off any VPNs when doing the initial installation. Once that’s completed, VPNs can be used.
