An adorable and surprisingly good little controller
I have a lot of controllers… and I’m on a mission of reviewing every controller I own. This time, we’ll review this cute little one!The main reason I bought this controller was for the cute pastel aesthetics, but it also looked like a compact but functional controller and the reviews were generally positive at the time of buying.Features:Face buttons are standard membrane.dpad is old school feeling membrane with center pivot.Center buttons are tactile.Bumpers have a soft tactile feel.No triggers – ZL/ZR are buttons. They are tactile but feel a little hollow. The controller has two rear macro buttons, and a turbo button.Special Features:The standout features that attracted me to this controller were….- Aesthetics- Being nearly full featured for Switch with a low cost.I’m honestly just really surprised at how much they packed into this little adorable controller. It basically does everything a Switch pro controller does except HD rumble while having a smaller footprint and price tag.QC / Durability Concerns:The controller is held together externally by 7 screws and doesn’t feel like it will fall apart at all.The joysticks are standard ALPS joysticks, so you’re not getting any HE or TMR sticks that tend to feature in higher end controllers. There are some alternatives in this price range that do use HE sticks so that could be something they opt for if they refresh this model in the future. Personally though, I’ve only had drift issues with the official joycons and I feel that joystick is smaller and more fragile, so I’m not too worried about it on this.Functionality:This controller genuinely surprised me. Despite being small, it feels pretty comfortable to hold, though if I were planning an extended gaming session I’d probably opt for something with handles. The ABXY face buttons are a matte pastel color and spaced and sized well. It uses the Nintendo ABXY layout, so if you use the controller on PC it will be reversed. The buttons are standard membranes. I’ve grown to like microswitch face buttons, but that is generally not something you see at this price level. The rear buttons have a very definitive click, louder than any of the rest of the buttons on the controller. I haven’t tested the macro functionality as I don’t typically need it for Switch games and I’m prone to accidentally press them if they are in an easy position to hit (they are), but the turbo button also operates the lighting options so I’ve had to press it a few times. The texture on the upper ring of the joystick is actually very grippy and they feel nice to move around. The RGB ring functions similarly to an anti-friction ring of higher end controllers. I find it feels a little scratchy in spots, but still feels better than not having it at all. This probably could be improved with metal plating on the joystick shaft, but that’s generally not an expectation at this price point. The controller is PC compatible, but the rear triggers are a switch and not analog, so note that this controller would be unusable for racing games or any other game where you need an analog readout for the rear triggers.Tests:A staple of my controller reviews… the Tetris dpad test. I play games on Tetris at as fast of a pace as I can (I’m roughly a 1 minute sprinter in modern Tetris games) and see how many false hard drops I get. I’m happy to report that this controller passed! For the small size of the controller, the dpad is surprisingly large and I think that contributes to the accuracy. I only had one false hard drop while testing with this controller, and that could have easily just been user error. This puts this controller up there with the 8BitDo Pro 2 and my Mobapad M6 HD joycons, both options I’d happily use if I wanted to play Tetris at my best. And a second test I like to do now⦠joystick resolution! If you play Genshin Impact, there is a function that allows you to set the time of the day, and you can get a good idea of how much resolution a joystick has by how easily you can set a precise minute on the clock. This joystick is nice and precise and allows me to select exact minutes without bouncing between minutes. I’m impressed with the quality of the hardware inside this low cost controller. In Conclusion:Given the aesthetics, price, and functionality of this controller, I’d happily recommend it as of now. The smaller footprint makes it a bit more portable to take places. While you give up a bit in ergonomics, it is by no means uncomfortable. It’s also pretty feature rich for the price with really the only first party Switch feature missing being HD Rumble, something that very few third party controllers offer. This one definitely surprised me with how much I like it!Edit 9/18/2024 – Changed format to be more like my other controller reviews.

Connected immediately and detected as Xbox controller.
I allow my 5 year old to play some PC games (mini-golf, Bluey, PawPatrol) and standard Xbox controllers are too large for her hands to use both joysticks. This controller connected without issue and she was playing games soon after. She likes the color, lights, and the smaller size allows her to use it properly.

Worth more than theyâre charging for it! Comfy in the hand and cute. Also works perfectly with the switch.

Made for Small Hands, This Controller is Cute But Suffers From Subpar Battery Life
I play a lot of video games, split between PC and Switch. I bought this for my son because it indicated it was for smaller hands, but I also thought it’d be a nice backup for me.Pros:* Connectability. I initially paired this to my PC wirelessly, which had some pretty significant lag. I then used a wired connection and it played flawlessly. I also connected wirelessly to my Switch and tested it with no issues, so I’m chalking the PC bluetooth issue up to my PC.* Functionality. The main function I wanted to test was the ability to wake my Switch up. I’m happy to say that it does wake up the Switch because I have another knock off Switch controller and that function doesn’t work. I tested turbo mode, and while somewhat finnicky, it does work. I didn’t test the NFC ability for amiibo, but that’s something I virtually never use. You can change the strength of vibration and turbo speed, which is nice.* Design. The pastel candy color definitely isn’t for everyone, but I like it. I also appreciate the LED lights. There are five different light settings to choose from: white, magenta, blue, rainbow, and pulsing between those colors.Cons:* Battery Life. The description bills the battery life at 10-12 hours, but the instruction says it’s closer to 8 hours if you use LED and vibrations (which will be most people). An eight hour battery life with a 2-3 hour charge is pretty awful. Compared to the Switch Pro controller, which has a 1300 mAH battery versus this controller’s 600 mAH, you get about a fifth the battery life since the Pro controller’s estimated battery life is 40 hours. However, the Pro controller is also costs more.* Size. The controller grips are small, which feels awkward and less comfortable than standard length. I included a comparison picture between this and the Switch Pro controller. The body shape is the same, the difference is just shortened grips. This isn’t going to negatively affect my score because it’s listed as being designed for small hands, but I wanted to include this for any adults looking at buying this.

Such a cute controller
I love the pink color and the colors for the buttons and the lights are a good feature makes the controller super cute. Not only is it a cute controller but itâs good quality too. I love that I can pair it with my switch and computer and the amiibo card function as well.

Me encantó.
