I put this on my hvac system box. Very easy to hook up yourself! Only 2 wires, just unscrew the terminals and attach the wires exactly like the instructions.The build quality is sturdy and tough. It looks pretty well built and my hvac guys that come out even recommend them as well.The price is worth it, I think, if it saves me thousand compared to what I paid for it then it is worth it. Sure, home insurance may protect the investment, but everyone knows how insurance companies can be. Think of this as a back up to the insurance if you get screwed.It fit very easy! I bought more of these so I can be ready when the device goes out.

Quality product and fairly easy to install if you know you way around electric wiring. If you don’t, buy it and hire an electrician to install it for you.

AC tech recommended, only lasted ~4 years before died.
This device is good value for the money, however don’t expect it to last forever. It is a sensitive electrical device and with a 3-year warranty, you should only expect it to last slightly longer than that. Mine was installed 4 years by a service tech and the light just went out on it. No lightning around us, seems like it just died without a surge. Simple to install or replace.

Very easy to install
Very easy to install in line with my Disconnect switch for my AC compressor. I havenât had any power surges to see how the unit actual works when needed. The unit mounts easily to the side of the disconnect and has a nice green light to tell you it is running. Would recommend to save your compressor from any power surges. We had a compressor go out because of a surge and installed this when we replaced our compressor with a new one.
