UPDATED Review â GOOD for what it does, RECOMMENDED if you know what youâre getting,
I initially posted a two-star review of this projector as the unit I received did not have working WiFi and the Bluetooth connection had severe latency issues when used with a Roku Express.The company contacted me rapidly and worked hard to address the problems. They went so far as to ship me a replacement projector which did have working WiFi. The companyâs response alone earned them at least a one-star upgrade.So, first the good. The screen brightness and resolution on this projector are excellent. My use case is a portable outdoor theater on our back deck, streaming off gigabit fiber, with the already noted Roku Express plugged into HDMI. While we canât watch movies in bright sunlight (I wouldnât expect to) it works well from twilight on (or inside, for that matter). The on-board sound system is nice, and sufficient for most of our movie nights, though at only 6 watts itâs a little soft for some of our elderly friends (hence my trying to enhance the sound) out on the deck. From playing around with it, as long as your source is iOS or Android or a laptop and you donât need truly loud sound *through a Bluetooth connection* it will work just fine. Even with the Roku Express, it will work nicely. As such, among the low-cost projectors available, I can absolutely attest that this one can work nicely⦠with one caveat:Unfortunately, the replacement projector also has the severe latency issues with Bluetooth when used in combination with a Roku Express, necessary to stream Amazon or Netflix inside the United States (per the companies listing, Netflix, Disney, and Amazon copyright issues prohibit playing movies directly from the projector). It appears to be impossible to get the audio to sync with movies streamed over the Roku, and while I didnât test it, I suspect the same will hold true with a Fire Stick.In the end, I bought a speaker that had an AUX jack to address the sound issue and bypass Bluetooth.So, bottom line â This is a solid projector, with one minor flaw that is readily overcome and may not even matter depending on use. Among the low-cost units on the market my personal experience was that this is a good unit and the company provided very good customer service (which earned them the fifth star).

EXCELLENT PROJECTOR. THE BRIGHTEST PROJECTOR IN ITS CLASS.
We wanted to purchase a new projector for this year, that had both Bluetooth and WiFi, and supported a 4K HDMI signal (native 1080p). We looked at several native 4K projectors, but they are still pretty expensive in the $1,200+ range, with most good ones being closer to $1,500 to $1,900 and some over the $3,000 mark.So we were looking for a good projector in the $200 to $800 range. We tested 10 different units, and of all of those units, the JAFAR 1080p native projector (2022 model) had by far the best and brightest picture!The color is excellent, and the projector is bright enough that you can easily watch anything on a good screen in a lighted room.THE PROJECTOR DOES FULLY SUPPORT DOLBY VISION (at 1080p) as well as HDR. It will also play 4K video at a very sharp 1080p resolution.We tested this projector using various video formats, including 4K UHD video with Dolby Vision and Dolby HDR, HDR+ and HDR10 and the projector played these perfectly without any problems.And the quality and color of these 4K UHD videos were excellent. Of all of the under $1000, 1080p projectors that we tested, we found that this JIFAR 2022 projector and the best features and performance.ALSO, ONE OF THE BEST FEATURES of this projector, is that it allows you to reduce the screen/image size down to 55%. Most projectors we tested will only go down to about 70%.This is important because then it allows you to be able to setup the projector at virtually any (reasonable) distance from the screen (either closer or farther) and be able to adjust the projected picture size to perfectly fit whatever size screen you are using. And although IT IS NOT a short throw projector, you could actually place this projector much closer to your screen, then any other projector we tested.We have our projector hanging down from the ceiling at 13â 8â from projector to screen, using a 120â 16:9 screen and we can adjust it to completely fit the entire screen perfectly. You could easily place this projector as close as approximately 3′ or as far back as 60â or more. So its very versatile as a projector. And itâs brightness does support longer throws.We also liked the fact that it supports a 4K UHD HDMI signal. We have played many 4K/UHD movies on it and it displays the video without any problems and they look great!If you play an HD or a UHD movie or show on this projector, I think you’ll be amazed at just how sharp it is, how bright it is and the colors are perfect.And it will work perfectly with a Roku or Blu-Ray player.And there’s a lot of customization that you can do with it as well, in adjusting the color, contrast, brightness, hue, etc, etc.Its a very good and BRIGHT projector with great features and I would highly recommend buying it!In our opinion, itâs one of the best native 1080p projectors (that will support and play a 4K UHD HDMI Dolby Vision signal) that you could purchase for under $500.00
