Following Tesla’s 2024 37 software update, an issue with Bluetooth connectivity has arisen, causing abnormalities when connecting controllers via Bluetooth. Tesla has not yet resolved this problem. However, JOWUA controllers can still be used seamlessly through two alternative connection methods:
Install the Wireless USB Dongle in the glovebox for a hassle-free connection.Detailed instructions are in the controller manual under the “How to Pair” section on the Wireless USB Dongle page.
Set the controller to S Mode to connect via Bluetooth.

Great Wireless Controller for Tesla Y
I got the Jowua Tesla wireless controller today, and itâs been great so far. It looks sleek and perfectly matches my Tesla Model Y’s clean interior. The setup was simple thanks to the clear instructions, and being wireless makes it even more convenient. Some reviews mentioned that the button layout might feel different, but I didnât notice any problems. The screen says to press A to select, and pressing A on the controller works just as it should. The controller works perfectly with the 2024 MY.I was really adamant about finding a controller that doesnât need to connect via USB in the glove box, so Iâm glad I came across this controller.At first, I had the controller set to the âBluetoothâ setting but the controls werenât working. I saw another review mention to use the âSwitchâ (second option from the right) when connecting to the car and it works flawlessly.Although the buttons placement differ from the typically Xbox controller, Iâm getting used to the difference.I love that it can be wirelessly charged or via USB-C. I bought the white version to match the interior. I might look into buying a second controller for multiplayer.

Do not buy. Cheap and flimsy and buttons are backwards.
This controller is disappointing in every way. The dealbreaker though is that the buttons our back backwards from an Xbox controller that itâs trying to emulate. Look at my picture and see how the an and B buttons are wrong, as well as the X and Y buttons. Itâs a little maddening when you play any game because whenever the game says press a buttons, you actually have to push a different button then is show on the controller. The game is fine, the car is fine, if the controller is whack. It doesnât seem to be just my controller, this is the way these are made.

Works well, quick to connect
This has been the only wireless controller that I have gotten to work. Bluetooth controllers don’t play well with the model y but this one relies on a usbA dongle to make the connection and it works well. Time for some cuphead

Defected Product **UPDATE**
This item arrived and it was very well packaged. Item build is great, and I’m sure that it’s a great product WHEN it works. Unfortunately for me, my item didn’t work. See attached video. The buttons don’t work. The day I got the product, I registered it for warranty. I have tried to contact their customer service via email twice now, to no response at all so I have no choice but to come here and explain my experience. They should really QA their product before putting out on the market.**UPDATE** So after getting a replacement from Amazon, the same thing happened (from the video attached to this review). Come to find out, when using this in the Tesla specifically, DO NOT USE IT VIA BLUETOOTH, use it with the USB dongle that this comes with. I didn’t do this the first time, but did it this time and it seems to work as intended. I didn’t get any emails from their support team so I will have to leave the one last star off of the review because of this.

Switched button positions
The controller is pretty good, but if you have a little of muscle memory you won’t like it 100%, since AB YX buttons are switched and located on wrong places.Also if you never played with a controller before I won’t recommend it either otherwise your muscles will learn wrong button position.So unfortunately I had to return it

Compré un par de controles, los botones dejaron de funcionar, creo que es un problema de Software. En ambos controles solo sirve un par de botones y es imposible jugar, ya los reinicie y no fue suficiente con eso.

I wish these were Bluetooth to the Tesla and not having to use a dongle. Because the only dongle port that you can plug the receiver into is the one that used by the security system and the dash cam. I really donât wanna be pulling that out and plugging it in every time I want to use the game controller.They were returned

Une première chose importante :Jâai choisi ce joypad pour son côté compact bien pratique pour le laisser dans la Tesla. Jâaime bien son petit côté design reprenant les codes couleur avec son petit insert « pear wood » de certaines Tesla.Néanmoins je ne mets que 3 étoiles car son rapport qualité /prix est vraiment décevant.Pour le prix dâune manette oremium de console de salon je lâattendais a beaucoup mieux.Lâengouement pour la marque Jowua pour les possesseurs de Tesla y est peut pour quelque chose. Jâai décidé de garder ce produit car il permet de se caler facilement dans le véhicule mais il ne vaut clairement pas les plus de 70⬠dépensés ! ( tout au plus 20/25⬠)

Firstly, this thing arrived well packaged, and on time – fabulous!~80% charge, so was able to use it right away.I was itching to use this in our Tesla. The instructions state it has to be connected via dongle (which worked, perfectly – although instructions mentioned center console, but my M3 only has the data port only in glove box).. Biggest bonus.. it also worked via standard Bluetooth, which I’m over the moon about!Having it capable of connecting to multiple devices is nice. It works well, feels solid enough, perhaps a little smaller than a switch controller, but fits well in the hand, and going to be excellent for travelling.Thanks heaps!
