Pleasantly surprised
This is the first light strip Iâve purchased of this kind. Upon unboxing I was concerned that the adhesive on the back would not be substantial enough for the job, but, the install went quite well as you can see from the photos.The lights, while not ultra bright absolutely can set a desired mood. I was leery about the âAIâ feature and how useful it would be and while its not fantastic, a simple command like âMake the lights redâ or âSet the lights for sleepâ actually yield decent results.The app itself is the reason why I am taking a star away. I did not like having to create an account just to control the lights, and the app itself leaves something to be desired in terms of controls. Many similar manufactures include a default set of lighting scenes, but overall, it is a good value. Iâve been in the Phillips Hue ecosystem for a long time, and itâs hard to go to other control apps – but for my use case, this works quite well. There is a feature in the app that seems to use your tablet or smartphones microphone to actively monitor music that you have playing to create various live lighting effects. While thats not my cup of tea personally, it does work and seems quite responsive to music.I had the install done inside of 20 minutes and the adhesive tape is perfect. There is a little give to it so if you need to pull up a strip and reapply it to get it the way you want, it will do that without ruining the adhesive.The packing was minimal, and the pairing process (aside from the annoying account creation) was fairly painless.I think that the price of 20 dollars is quite reasonable given its quality and the companion app design.

Love my Lepro lights!
my original Lepro were outdoor permanent lights which I love. I was excited to get this new light strip. They are controlled a little different that the permanent lights but that is probably because there are so many led lights in this strip. Be aware that you cannot add to the length or shorten the length on this light strip so plan accordingly. Also, these are indoor lights only. We have an architectural feature in the old houses in my neighborhood. My neighbors fell in love with the lights, now we all have cove lighting! A different color for different seasons!

Could not get to run with Alexa
Some may not care about Alexa compatability and if that’s youn this could be a 4 or 5 star item… but Alexa control is important to me. Since I could not get that accomplished, this gets, at best, 3 stars from me.So right out of the box, it was very easy to get up and running. I’m not a huge fan of the account I had to create with Lepro after installing their app, but that seems to be the cost of entry to play with this item. I did have no issues with using the app. It is fairly straight forward and relatively easy to navigate….but Alexa… this is supposed to be compatible but Lepro is not recognized by Alexa but you can enable the skill. But when the skill is enabled, it never does connect to the lights. I’m not looking forward to having utilize my phone to control the lights outside of programmed on & off times.Overall, I’m somewhat disappointed with these lights.

Budget option for accent lighting- if you’re okay with an app
This is for the 50ft SE1 “AI” led strip. FIrst I’ll say that its extremely well priced, 50 ft will add under lightning to pretty much any furniture and most cabinet areas.I want to be realistic – these are not dim but they aren’t what I would personally use for main lights, like in a kitchen where you’re handling a knifee. They’ll certainly help though, and they do help bring a nice mood.Personally I’ll use it under my couch to add some mood/accent lighting. I would say the AI feature in their app is a bit gimmicky but fun to try, it might be your thing. Personally, I have all these 3rd party apps on a 2nd wifi network to keep my main network safe. Although the app does not seem to be nefarious at all.I tried integration with Alexa and it does work, I also managed to get them into homebridge but they act a bit wonky. If you’re looking for an easy, cheap, led strip that can add some color. This is a great option for only 20 bucks

Strobes
I wanted to try a backlight behind my TV. It was easy to install and the app to download was easy to use. I was able to link it to my Echo show 8 easy peasy. I can turn it off or on via Alexa. You can select the color mode from the app. The music feature is more like strobe light and you can select different color themes for the flashing to music. If you want a light that adjusts to the light from a movie or show, this is not the light you want. You cannot cut the strip and the music feature uses your devices microphone, which could be battery draining. Iâm not sure Iâll keep it behind my TV, but was a cheap alternative to seeing how a backlight would work. Maybe down the road Iâll splurge for the type that light based on the movie or TV show.

Exactly what I needed
I needed a new strip of LEDs for my coffee bar, as the others were getting old and acting weird. These are perfect. They stick well, but also remove easily with a small tug. They are quite bright. I used the app and was able to get it set up almost immediately with no trouble. It also synced with Alexa perfectly, so now i control the lights with my voice.It is capable of a variety of colors as well as music mode, which might be fun for a dance party vibe.
