    Space saving AND effective.
Let me tell you how this scanner has changed the way I do things! I used to have to photograph or scan my handdrawn line work into the computer to digitally edit it with a giant clunky printer/scanner. Now I can just use this little beauty. I’m on the road travelling a lot with my art and NEEDED a space saver. This fit the bill! Higher DPI than most flatbed scanners, it’s perfect for when I need to scan photos my clients gives me or references of pieces I’m working on. Easy set-up too! Make sure you buy a micro SD card for sure, it just makes it easier. I matched this with my PocketJet printer and it keeps everything working like a large office space but from the pocket of my backpack. Love it!

portable scanner. Crap battery. MUST have SD card to use.(not included)
This scanner did not work right and turned off after each scan. Would not scan while plugged in. I was able to scan at most 2 pieces in a sitting. I wanted this for scanning pictures from my photo albums but it is crap. I would rather stick to using a big bulky non portable scanner.

    only two issues
I bought this to replace, after 10 years, a VuPoint PDS-ST450. Except for the more stylish wand and that it will take a 32GB sim card (not included) I have not found any differences from the older model. They both fit the same docking station. Like the other, it is very simple to use and very convenient. The same cable from the docking station to the computer will power it and upload scans. It does come with a wall plug AC adapter for chargingI have only two issues to take with it: 1) The rollers will sometimes not grip glossy paper, so it will not feed 2) It is difficult to get a straight feed with the docking station, as the rollers do not always get even traction when the paper is inserted. The biggest plus is its size and convenience.

    The unit will not charge.
Unit will not charge. Even after being plugged in overnight the unit blinks and shuts down.

Great little scanner for the money
This is a great little scanner if you are doing genealogical type work. Loose pages of type worked out great. Pictures were good, you should take some time when using it as a hand scanner. Once you learn a good speed across the page of type it works well. I was very pleased with the quality for the price and for what I wanted it for. Several people asked about in and liked the results we showed them. I recommend it!

Memory card has to be taken out in order to start the scanner
Overall the quality of scanning is fine, the only issue I have with the scanner is that you have to remove the memory card in order to turn it on and then insert it. Seems counterproductive. If it were not for that I would give it five stars.
