Good mic, good stand, great sound with DPS
Mic tone is great with the Natural preset. The Original is good too. It has enough gain to set the mic 6-12″ when plugged up via USB. Plugged up to a soundboard with the XLR out (meaning no DPS), this mic still sounds really good. Very impressed. Two catches in sound quality: 1. handing noise…if you move the mic around, bump your desk etc…it’s going to make a lot of noise. Set it in one position and you should be good to go. 2. Pickup pattern…this mic has a very wide pickup pattern, meaning it will allow a lot more room noise (off axis noise) in…that also means you can move around the mic and still sound loud and natural…it’s a trade off…reject the room and sit in the narrow mic beam, or have a wider mic beam with more room noise…depends on your preference. So recap…great sound quality, great DPS presets, moving the mic around makes distracting noise, you probably won’t have to move it with the wide pickup pattern.
Latency with hear through is low enough to not bother me. Big plus there. Means you can compress and EQ your voice in the mic and hear how you sound while you talk. The app they have for this mic has impressed me.
Mic stand is good – the clamp for attaching to the desk is metal. I have another mic stand with a plastic end that isn’t nearly as sturdy. These spring mic stands aren’t as good as the stands with the fancier joints, but they work fine enough and are cheaper.
Headphone amp was loud enough for my 40ohm headphones, and was impressively high quality.
Impressively low price for good sound on this product.

Won’t connect to PC
My son received this for Christmas 2024, unfortunately it does not connect to windows 10 and there is no driver to download. Spent 3 hrs trying to figure it out but I guess this one is defective. Customer support is email only but I think I’ll just return it as its been such a problem already.

Kinda disappointing
This microphone is decent in what it does, but not worth it. A lot of great features being usb/xlr, built in gain knob for mic and headphone volume and mute. However the actual voice quality was very disappointing. After trying both usb and xlr results were still the same picking up a lot of dead air/almost static even. The only way I could fix this was adding filters manually in my recording software or even plugging it into an audio mixer with built in noise reduction. Each time it sounded good at best but almost washed out especially if I wasn’t close enough. If I turned up the gain it would sound too distorted. The only reason I can give this 3 stars instead of 2 is that the boom arm being great quality.

This mic is not too bad here are my thoughts:
Pros:
1. Comes with a boom arm and integrated pop filter.
2. Nice and sleek looking mic with colourful light. It looks quite professional.
3. The mute button is touch sensitive preventing noises when pressed.
4. Organized 2 in one button to minimize buttons on the device.
5. Sound is quite smooth and the cardioid pattern is quite good to keep the side noises to a minimum.
6. Has XLR capability so you can better sound quality using an audio interface.
7. Comes with a USBA adapter cable for USBC to USBC to connect to your computer.
Cons:
1. The boom arm is the typical cheap style. It is slightly better than most but still cheap.
2. There is no shock mount for the mic. I think since it is mainly as marketed for gaming and not recording.
3. Putting the mic onto the boom arm was a bit tricky to twist it on. The screw adaptor is a bit hard to turn on and off especially when it is almost fully screwed in. So I kept it a bit light and not so tight.
4. The software does extend the mic a bit but only basic features mostly. It does have some equalizer effects but I didn’t try it out too much. Was a bit underwhelming when first used. I will look at it more.
5. Everything is very light and plasticky giving a slightly cheap feel.
6. No XLR cable included.
In summary, I think it may be slightly expensive for the quality of the mic. It sounds good using USBc cable and more definitely using the XLR cables but I think if you are going to buy a mic, it maybe better to get a mic that may be more professional. Meaning something with a shock mount, something made more out of metal and has built a reputation for quality. This is not to say it is not a quality mic. Just perhaps for the price you can get something more better.
I think this mic sounded quite good though and it could be a nice all in one mic for beginner to intermediate users.

I recently watched my husband test out the MAONO Dynamic Gaming Microphone, and let me just say, he was having a blast! Heâs a gamer and streamer, so heâs tried quite a few microphones, but he was really impressed with this one.
First off, the sound quality blew him away. The 24-bit/48kHz sampling rate makes everything sound crisp and clear, which was a big win for his streaming setup. He was also super excited about the boom armâit was super easy to attach, and honestly, it gave his desk a much more professional vibe. The RGB lighting? Total bonus! He thought it was just for fun, but now he loves how it adds some extra flair to his streaming corner. Of course, the lights are only visible to him, but he doesnât mind one bit.
The mute button was super handy for those moments when he needs to quickly silence himself, and the gain and monitoring controls were easy to adjust. It really felt intuitive for him.
Now, he did mention a couple of things that could be improved. While the noise cancellation works well most of the time, in really noisy environments, itâs not perfectâthough he said itâs nothing a little extra software canât fix. You wonât find a better deal for a microphone and boom arm, and the items are actually pretty decent!
Setup is very easy. The arm comes pre built with only the desk mount needing to be added. Putting the mic on is as easy as screwing it on. Once the mic is on, the included USB C/ USB cable is plenty long enough to span the length of the boom, plus a couple feet to reach your PC.
The quality of parts is top notch. The boom arm is stiff and easily moved into the position you need. Itâs not a $600 boom arm, but for the price of the kit, it goes above and beyond.
The microphone is also a great value for the price! It looks great, is made of quality materials and records at a reasonable rate! Noise gates are easily adjusted with the app you can download from the companies website, or can be adjusted with third party software.
You really canât go wrong with this kit if you want to start creating content!
