Probably the Best Drive for Wii U
It’s small, easy to use & comes with a manual for easy set up for your Wii U.I got the 2TB model, though I probably won’t need the extra space since I own most of my games physically but with DLC and update data as well as Virtual Console, my 32gb model soon ran out of space, so I wanted to be safe than sorry. The drive comes with it’s own 3.1 Y-cable, so you don’t need to buy one seperate unless you just prefer a particular brand. The cable it comes with is rather stiff but works just fine.It also comes with an external power supply AC adapter, but you don’t need to use it if you are using both USB plugs on the Y-cable. It boots up automatically with the Wii U when powered on, or when it goes into sleep mode to update. It’s so small & sleek, I just love how it looks next to the system. It’s really neat. Couldn’t ask for a better drive.

The Oyen Digital HDD is the best option to accumulate demanding Wii U games.
If you’re ever looking to dust off your depressing Wii U with the best games you can ever think of, you can use this product to boost life for your Wii U. Simply plug the hard drive into the wall and into the back USB slots, make a quick format and you now have a working high tier HDD no problem. The size makes the HDD more compact and easy to store if you’re having it on the go while traveling and even letting it next to the Wii U. I used my HDD for almost a month now and I haven’t encountered any issue during my gameplay sessions. i truly recommend this product.

If you are looking to expand your Wii U storage, look no further.
I have a Wii U, and it very quickly ran out of hard drive space. But, most games these days are downloaded, not bought on disk, and even the disk games generally have downloaded content and updates which are quite large in size. At first I thought that 2TB was a ridiculous overkill, but then I installed it and downloaded a few games, which were several GB in size each, and the games that I had downloaded the optional content and updates, and before I knew it I had nearly 500GB used. I am thinking I am actually going to run out of space, so if you are looking to upgrade your Wii U and thinking 2TB is too big, you are WRONG. Believe me.So, this comes with a cable meant specifically for the Wii U. It connects to 2 USB connection, and that gives it the power it needs, and the data connection to the Wii U. It comes with a separate power adapter, but you don’t need it.I plugged it in to the Wii U, and turned on the Wii, and it turns on. The Wii immediately found it, and formatted it, and that was that. When the Wii is turned off it powers down the drive. What else can you ask for?Pros: Very small, case feels rugged. Cable comes meant for Wii, and gets power and data from Wii directly. Powers up and down with the Wii. Wii automatically finds and formats, no installation work at all. Size is good for downloading games, content and updates.Cons: I really can’t think of any. This is really perfect for the Wii.

    It works great!
I bought this for the Wii U. When I received it I thought it was broken, because it wasn’t starting up, and even plugged it into several pc operating systems to try to get access it in the diskpart. It would not show up.But I did get it working. I contacted customer support and they said I needed to use the Y cable it comes with. I used both the Y cable and the ac power supply, and toggled the switch on. There is an order to get it working part of which is listed in the user instructions provided in the box. Plug the included Y-cable into the back 2 ports of theWIi U but not the data cable. Plug the power ac into the hard drive and toggle the on/off switch on. Then attach the data cable to the Wii U only after it is powered on. Then power on the Wii U, not before.I did all of this with the provided cables and it didn’t work. When I used my own data cable, it actually worked just fine. So faulty data cable aside this is a great product. It does work for the Wii U, just keep in mind it is an HDD so be careful not to move it much when it is spinning, and be gentle with it, don’t drop it or bump it too hard.I took one star off because it came with a bad cable. But that is a small problem. These days most everyone has a C-type to USB cable laying around to spare.

    SO worth it!!
I brought this to free up some space on my Wii U as I have A LOT of downloaded games from the Nintendo eShop and boy does this do the trick. It was easy to install and it’s running with no problem. It even comes with an AC Adapter so that you can run external power to it and not take up both of the USB ports on the back of the Wii U. Anyone who is lookinf to free up space ob their Wii U, this is the thing to get

    Perfect for extra storage.
The storage capacity is enough for me to own enough space for installments, very quick loading times and it’s not too difficult to get it installed to my Wii U. Love it.

Great Wii U external storage expansion
I bought this for my Wii U and it works flawlessly plug and play with the dual USB cable and no power brick plugged in. Xenoblades and Zelda BOTW downloaded fine. Previously I tried using an SD adapter with 400 GB SD card and only small games < 1 GB would download completely while titles like Zelda would fail hours and gigabytes in time after time. This drive works perfectly and I bought it based on Wii U compatibility. Happy customer so far.

    Totally worth it.
I love this item, now I can purchase & download wii u games without worrying about running out of space in my system memory. I can move games to my 1tb usb storage now if I decide to buy games with large amounts of space from wii u e-shop without worrying. You would want this for your wii u!

Got 1 of these for my Wii U, took 5 seconds to hook up and power on, 2 seconds to calibrate (idk if i even had to do that) and all of my games transfered to it very fast. Exactly what I wanted.

My daughter has the white basic model Wii U and the only things she has downloaded is Art Academy and the Mario Kart 8 dlc packs. When we tried downloading the second dlc content for MK8, we had message say she didn’t have enough memory.I did some research on getting her a external hard drive for her Wii U and I wanted to make sure I got one that was compatible with the Wii U. Although this one isn’t the cheapest on the market, I always believe you get what you pay for. The Oyen Digital MiniPro 1TB recognised the Wii U straight away and was very easy to setup. It came with straightforward instructions on how to set up the hard drive to the Wii U. The hard drive is small in size and looks and feels robust . Once everything was connected and working, I just needed to go into the Wii U system menu, so I could transfer the MK8 data over to the hard drive. Then it was all smiles around, because we could finally download the MK8 DLC2 and race the new tracks together.I know in the future my daughter wants to download U Craft, when it is finally released. If you need extra memory for your Wii U, then I 100% recommend this beautiful MiniPro 1TB external hard drive.
