Easy, quality portable ring light
Iâve used this brand products before so was excited to try this little ring light. I got it to use when Iâm doing video meetings, I often use my mini iPad so need something portable to help me add lighting to my various spaces. Itâs very easy to use and set up is minimal, with the simple switch. I love that you can change the color temperature and so far itâs been plenty bright for my needs. Highly recommended!

Great quality ring light with versatile setup options
I really like this ring light. It takes my meetings and quick streams to a whole new level when Iâm using my mobile setup. With 10 brightness levels and 5 color temperatures, itâs surprisingly capable. The build is solid and sturdy, and I mostly use the clip, which has a secure rubber grip and is very safe for my laptop. I pair it with a separate tripod and magnetic mount to hold my phone, making it easy to read comments or questions.
The controls are simple, and while the light does fluctuate on my mobile dock at maximum power, it works smoothly at around 75% brightness. Itâs compatible with any 2A USB outlet or power bank, so itâs really convenient on the go.
Overall, great quality. I own multiple Neewer products, and this one definitely lives up to their reputation. Highly recommended!

Powerful USB powered ring light
This is a great little ring light for using with a webcam. It’s quite bright, and I appreciate being able to change the color temperature and intensity both so you can customize it for the environment you are in. It’s nice to have both the option of setting it up on a small tripod or clipping it over the webcam itself. The later is super useful for portability but I would probably leave it on the tripod for use at home.
My only complaint with this light is that it’s running off of USB-A and I feel like there’s such a switch happening to USB-C at the moment that this will need an adapter already for some users and more in the future.

I’d say the NEEWER Basic 5″ Ring Light has been a game-changer.
Before, I struggled with uneven lighting and harsh shadows, which made me look unprofessional and distracted from my presentations. This little light has eliminated those issues entirely. It clips easily onto my laptop monitor, and the adjustable brightness and color temperature let me fine-tune the lighting to match any environment.
Now I always appear well-lit and focused on camera, even in dimly lit rooms.The compact size and included tripod make it incredibly portable, so I can take it with me on business trips or use it for impromptu video calls from different locations.
It’s also great for casual video chats with friends and family. While it’s primarily designed for video conferencing, I’ve found it useful for other tasks too, like taking selfies and recording videos.Overall, the NEEWER Basic 5″ Ring Light has been a fantastic investment. It’s improved the quality of my video calls significantly and boosted my confidence on camera. First impression
Pros: It has 5 light temperatures with a dimming & brightening button. Light can be removed to use on a different mount. It’s bright for its size.
Cons: Not designed for travel. No built-in battery…requires external power source.
Overall: The function switches are located half way down the USB cord. I’m not certain of the advantages versus having the controls on the actual light housing. This may be great if using it for Zoom calls where the light is permanently mounted and the USB is connected directly to the computer for a power source.

I have a few Neewer Items and love them all.
This lamp is great if you are like me and run weird colored lights in your room but want your face to show and not be darken out when webcam chatting. It can be plugged in USB port or by USB charger. It has an on and off feature. Different light temperatures to compliment your face. As well as different brightness. I like using it as a desk lamp and for when I webcam chat for work. This is a great item. Neewer might not be name brand. But a lot of their products I have bought were just as good.

This seems to be a well constructed light. The light can be clipped to a monitor or laptop, or mounted on a tripod, or the included desk tripod.
The light can be angled when on the clip, and when mounted on a tripod, it can be rotated 360°. This gives you some flexibility when you are using your light.
The clip also has a cut-out section that can be positioned over your built-in laptop camera. This is helpful to provide an excellent light source to fill the shadows on your face etc., while maintaining a centre point for the lighting without camera obstruction.
This is powered by a USB-A connection. I use a battery pack (USB POWER BANK) to power this. You can use a USB wall plug, or plug into your computer if you have the extra ports, I do not.
The light is controlled inline and you can change the colour temperature, brightness/dimness, and power it on and off. The controls are easy to use, in my opinion.
This light is quite portable and can be deployed just about anywhere, as direct or indirect lighting. The best use is video streaming/video conferencing for me. I find this adds the fill I need to look ‘fresh and awake’ and not overly ‘grumpy’.
This ring light checks a lot of boxes for my needs when it comes to lighting on my computer. This is not really a great option for smaller devices, it is a 5 inch ring light after all, it is likely a large as most peoples cellphone. A little overkill for me.
Recommended because it simply works well with little setup required.
