pretty fast and reliable

Works as advertised
I just use this as a plug and play small storage backup drive that I leave plugged in and have an auto backup program running to it. So far it works perfectly fine for what I am using it for.

Nice Portable Drive
I bought this drive in the hopes it could be external storage for my iphone. Unfortunately it is not compatible with it. Turned out to still be useful to me to have a backup location for my work documents and photos. Transfers seem to go pretty quickly. Would recommend.

Device I/O error. No longer able to transfer anything to this drive only
Literally took a crap 10 days after purchase! Tried to transfer old family movies on it and I consistently get errors, windows can’t repair it. I have 2 other drives that work flawlessly through the same ports and cables I’ve tried with this thing. Get a better drive than this junk

“Slow” and Unreliable
When a device promises 2000MB/s, then 1017.77 MB/s is considered slow. This SSD also heats up pretty quickly and sometimes, my pc can’t read it until it cools down. I would be willing to overlook these issues if this ssd was “cheap” or “inexpensive”. However, it is not competitive in price at all. For this price, I can get an SSD flash drive of the same storage and it won’t have these issues. Or for a little bit more, I can get a 1TB SSD that’s more reliable. I do not recommend this at all.

Works and had held up so far
In general this external ssd has performed as desired and expected. However, the reason I don’t give it full marks is the casing it rough and entirely too sharp. I have literally scraped my fingertips and almost broke skin when disconnecting it from a port. It literally does not just look sharp, it is. For that glaring design flaw I had to detract for.
