    Fantastic, sharp picture, great contrast
I upgraded this from an 8-year-old HD Optoma (which we’ve loved). This newer model has been fantastic. Brighter, sharper picture with fabulous contrast.PRO TIP: I discovered the hard way that none of my old HDMI cables or switches would work (e.g., I have an HDMI/audio splitter so I can send the video signal to the projector and the audio to my Sonos speaker system).None of the old HD cabling or devices will work with a 4k projector, particularly if (a) you want to access all of the projector’s features (e.g., image presets, detailed image controls) or (b) you want to stream video in 4k. This layer issue is due to copyright protections on 4k video streams. Make sure your cables and devices are HDCP 2.2/2.3 compliant.

BUYER BEWARE!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! Dead Pixels and Bad DMD Chip. DONE WITH OPTOMA!
I am very frustrated. This projector had dead pixels due to the faulty DMD chip in the very first month so I was able to return it to Amazon (thank goodness) and they exchanged it. That was unit #1.Unit #2 – this one had the same failure right after the 1-year warranty ended. I will never understand why a several thousand dollar unit would only have a 1-year warranty. It should be at least 2 years but more like 5 years seems appropriate when you spend this kind of money.Try #3 – Now even after having the DMD chip replaced, I am AGAIN, getting dead pixels before we are even at 90 days. This unit is obviously a lemon to have the same issue happen so many times in a row and in such short time frames. I keep my home immaculately clean and I air the projector out once a month like clockwork. I also have the unit set with my AV receiver to auto-turn off whenever there is no activity for 20 minutes. The unit is in open air and well-ventilated so I don’t understand what the cause is except for an inherently defective DMD chip.I honestly don’t think there is anything more I could do to baby this unit barring putting a custom cooling unit on it, which I shouldn’t have to do.I would really like to see Optoma get me into a unit that is equal to or better than the UHZ50. I feel that I have been through enough with this unit. Every time it goes out, my family has no home entertainment for several weeks which is unacceptable. Not to mention the hassle of uninstalling the unit from the ceiling and having to reinstall, adjust, and recalibrate every time. When I think Optoma it makes my stomach sick, which is not the feeling that I should have with your brand. I would like to know that you have admitted this unit has inherent defects and take care of me.This is my 5th Optoma Projector and I have been happy with all the other models I have had. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I sincerely hope you can take care of me.

    Highly recommended
We are absolutely thrilled with the Optoma UHZ45 projector! The 4K UHD resolution delivers incredibly crisp and vibrant images with exceptional clarity. It’s like having a cinema in your living room! One of the standout features for me is the enhanced gaming mode. It takes gaming to the next level with a lightning-fast 16.7ms response time in 4K at 60Hz and an impressive 4ms in 1080p at 240Hz. Gamers, you’re in for a treat! The projector is packed with the latest technology, including HDR and HLG compatibility, three HDMI 2.0 inputs, and Full 3D support. Plus, the integrated speaker is a nice bonus. What really sets the UHZ45 apart is its laser technology. As per the specs, I read it offers 30,000-hour maintenance-free laser light source, I hope I can enjoy hours of entertainment worry-free. (Will update if required) The color accuracy is exceptional, and the dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 truly enhances the visual experience.I can confidently say that the Optoma UHZ45 has exceeded my expectations, and I’m thoroughly enjoying recreating the big-screen experience at home. It’s a fantastic investment for any home theater enthusiast or gamer. Highly recommended!”

This is an excellent unit. I do not understand the bad reviews on this site. People do not appreciate good projectors. For the price, this is unbeatable unit. It is a lazer projector with a 4K image for a ridiculously low price. What is wrong with you people writing bad reviews about this unit? This projector has excellent color, excellent contrast ratio, good blacks, excellent resolution, and an lazor light source (little maintenance required). I’ve had it for over 3 months, now. It is a very good projector. I’ve had many projectors in my life. Trust me, I know what I’m talking about. Optoma makes good projectors. They also respect their warranty period policy, and are trustworthy. I like this projector. You can spend 8 000 $ getting a higher end projector, which is probably too big for your entertainment room, and marginally better. With this unit, you get an excellent 4K lazer projector dirt cheap.

I was very skeptical of buying a ‘4k shifting’ projector, but the technology really does work. The image is crisp, and does represent that 4k pop. The HDR on this is also quite good, simple HDR demos really bring out how well the laser brightness pairs with this feature.I would say that after searching for a while I landed with a projector that satisfys my next generation itch from my Benq W1070. The picture is just phenomenal, and no bulbs to worry about. The lack of HDMI 2.1 is a bit disappointing but doesn’t really impact me too much. It does have eArc that works well with my Onkyo receiver. The CEC functions don’t appear to work too well, but that’s just the way that technology goes.I have a 140″ screen and this has no problem lighting the whole thing up with lights on somewhat, definitely love the quick on/off too.Overall – highly recommended!

Got this under 44% sale and still not worth it. It has halo effect. Lens ajustment, calibration settings, zoom and trying all modes didnt help even 1%.After moving the projector too close to the screen halo effect gone but colors are terrible. Maybe a manufacturing defect but forums says many people have this issue.

Waited awhile to use it before my review. This projector is great, super bright, clear image, no issues so far. Even though no wifi, it still powers on and off with Alexa and FireTV Cube. I’m very happy with this projector !
