I am very impressed; this is a lot of microphone for the money.
This is actually a proâsounding mic and at an amazing price. Imagine a Shure SM58 at a third of the cost but housed in plastic instead of metal. I did a side-by-side comparison with this mic and a Shure SM58. To my ears, which are pretty sensitive, the two mics sounded identical on vocals (male with range from low F to high G), and I actually preferred it over the SM-58 for an acoustic guitar and acoustic bass. Sorry I didnât do electrics because I only have a dinky practice amp.I think the trade-off for the low price is in the material. An SM58 is nighâindestructible, able to take insane forms of abuse from high impacts to freezing, and even cooking. This mic, on the other hand, is a light, rigid plastic of some kind. My initial impressions were just donât drop it on the floor or anything like that and youâll be fine, as long as itâs handled carefully. However, the threads for mounting to a stand are also plastic, and I do wonder how long the plastic threads will endure their job without wear. Iâve had no such problems yet, though. If one only uses stands compatible with the metal adapter (included), this should not be a concern.Contrary to amateur complaintsâ¦THIS MICROPHONE HAS NO PROBLEMS WITH BUZZ OR RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE.Any such problems come from the CABLE, not from the microphone. The cable included with this microphone is just a bonus; it is of poor quality and not suitable for serious use. Always use a low-impedance (XLR) cable to avoid such problems. No microphone in the world can guarantee a signal free of unwanted interference if it is connected to a cheap high-impedance cable like the one included here. Toss the cable, keep the mic. This is an amazingâsounding dynamic microphone for home/studio use and at very low price; just handle it gently.Oh, and it does look really cool. The photos are accurate.Wishing everyone good health.

This microphone really sounds nice and mimics a retro crooner mic.
I bought this mic for a karaoke party for a 60 year old. The mic looked really cool, and the guests complemented the sound quality. However, although it looks like a vintage chrome mic, the outside is actually a chromed plastic, so you must be gentle with it. Great value, low price, good sound.

Puts the Oaky in Karaoke Night!
I don’t know what Oaky means. I have a number of different Pyle microphones, and I’ve always been pleased with the quality. I bought these retro-style mics to add a bit more stylistic flare to whenever we have a Karaoke event. I like the look of them, they’re sturdily built. I wish they weren’t plastic, but to get proper metal ones, I’d need to pay substantially more. The pick up is pretty good on these, and I appreciate that younger kids are less likely to treat these like ice cream cones when they’re singing Let it Go for the 78th time.

For under $50…
This mic has a thick plastic housing with a thin foam windscreen inside. This mic is very directional so you have to be right up on it. It worked great for the photoshoot I used it for. I have since replaced the windscreen and that has improved the sound. This microphone has a lot of handling noise if you’re moving it around, but overall a decent mic. The XLR cable it comes with is fine, and the overall sound is clear.

Ham radio
I use it on an ft-710 so I don’t damage any good microphones, I get the same performance out of this mic as I do my $100 and $500+ microphones. Everyone says my audio is outstanding so I have no complaints, it being plastic and lightweight makes it a no brainer for a cheap microphone arm that will have issues with a heavy metal mic. Plus its $20 so if I accidentally break it or drop it no problem.

Great value, but plastic stripped.
I particularly enjoy the Throwback look, and sound quality was never the issue. Unfortunately, the plastic housing where it connects to the mount, stripped. My Recommendations: purchase, bc it’s a good value. Just keep in mind tho, it’s not a good idea to treat this one rough. Use it for at-home. Traveling? Get a more durable (even if not as trendy) backup. Also: get a pop-filter of your choice.

Classic (microphone of the 50’s and 60’s)
I finally received the microphones and they look great. I will try them out on a gig and see if they stand up to brand name microphones. I like that they come with a microphone cable each (cause I ordered 2). They are plastic but we will see how good they sound. I also like the retro classic look of the 50’s and 60’s. They will be put into good use for singing. Get one for yourself and see if you like it.

Amazing Sound, Affordable Price! Whats not to love!
I LOVE THIS MIC! I have a Heil Fin Deco-Style Dynamic Mic, which I LOVE. Being in a retro style band, the aesthetic is important to us. We recently added another guitarist who is able to do back vocals. So of course we want to keep the mics on point. However the price point of the Heil is just not something we can afford to outfit everyone in the band with and I can’t expect a new member to purchase a 250$ mic. I looked at the Shure 55SH as well, and that is about a 159$ buy in. Still not viable to make everyone match. So after some checking the PDMICR42SL specs matched the higher end mics. I was fortunate enough to find it at 15.99, so totally worth trying it. I have to say, the first day it came I had rehearsal. I slapped it on the mic stand, did a quick EQ through the board and it was right on point with the Heil I’ve been singing through for two years now.I have also purchased the pyle PDMIC78’s as well. Also amazing. Do NOT let the price fool you. After a side by side comparison of the 78 with the Shure SM57, you can barely hear a difference. Amazing products from Pyle!

Looks great and sounds wonderful. It is made of plastic but as long as it is treated with care you should have no problems.
