Have gone through a few Roku remotes, as I’ve purchased ones for the wrong model (Roku TV versus Roku box / plugin). This one works great with the plugin ones, and it also was super easy to set up – just threw two AAA batteries in and was all set.

When my original Roku remote started to break (dropped on the floor more than once), we bought this as a replacement and loved the fact no set-up was needed. Worked perfectly the very 1st time

Worked a week and stopped working!
We used it for a week and it just stopped working. Couldn’t get it to do anything. Since our original remote was only damaged on the outside and the buttons was messed up;My husband took the inside of our original and put it inside of this remote so we could have a working remote. I know we can use our phones with the Roku app but it isn’t good for the phone’s batteries to use our phone all the time. Our phones are good when we just need to turn something or do a quick action, also for programming the tv, stream apps on the tv or having to type in a title or name to search for something is good for our phones. It is better just to have a remote to use most of the time. We are just gonna buy the actual real replacement Roku remote for our Roku tv and Roku boxes that are hooked to one of our tvs. Rather get the real Roku ones cause they stand behind their remotes. Only reason we have any trouble with our original ones is my husband left the remote out in reach of one of our puppies and that was that. After having toReplace a Roku remote for every tv and Roku device in the house, it looks like he would be more careful cause we have ordered many different ones from different places and they all don’t work good or they stop working without any damage. I’m sure something that was put together inside lost connection or burned up inside the remote. Hubby said that there was a place on the inside of this one that looked melted like it got hot but there wasn’t a way for it to where we used it. He said it justCould have been the batteries hooked to it and the wires crossed up wrong or got loose and it burned up something and it stopped working. After a week, it wasn’t worth a $1 for us. I rather pay $20 for a real Roku brand remote cause it will work even if the button get chewed by a puppy. Lol. It takes a lot to make them to stop working. The small size and the outside cover could be more durable but the inside makes up for it I guess cause it will take a hit and keep on getting. So u get what u pay for and sometimes u get lessThan what u pay for when u try to save some $$. So u may end up with worse than the one u are trying to replace. Sorry but this is my experience and opinion. We do get the protective covers that glow in the dark with a lanyard also on them to hang them up when not using and to help keep them from getting broke or messed up. The covers are well worth the price especially after buying the brand name remotes. Helps save us from having to replace anymore so far for now.
