Awesome for the price!
I designed a home karaoke system that could integrate with my home theater set up. But, I did not want to risk blowing out my Dynaudio speakers, so I purchased these to swap in and out for when my kids decide to do Karaoke. For the price I paid (just over $50 each), they serve my purpose perfectly! Not the best efficiency, but efficient enough. My Sunfire 200w per chance amp supplies enough power for these guys. They get loud. I have a separate subwoofer, so I can’t speak to how much bass they create. But they do get loud. For a Karaoke, PA or even DJ application, these work great. The room they are being used in is 20 x 30. I have not tried them outdoor, but with enough power, I would assume they would serve the purpose.

Good value, despite quality issues
I’m going to use this pair of SPG88s for spoken word sound reinforcement and they should do well. Mids and highs are clear, bass is satisfactory (about as expected for a small speaker). Efficiency seems about average, NOT high as Rockville claims. They seem physically sturdy, despite being light weight and easy to handle. Too bad about the quality problems. Between the 2 of them I found the following defects. One tweeter driver was bouncing around loose inside, not even screwed onto the horn. The other one was loose and about to fall off. Five of the 12 back panel screws were stripped out. One of the Speakon connectors will not lock. And why on earth did they choose to have ONLY Speakon connectors for a product aimed at consumers and low-end semi-pro use, rather than common 1/4″, banana plugs, or bare wire terminals?

Happy Owner! Tought to beat/ Bag missing?
Mains or Monitors – Passive means these need an amp. I am excited to own these. Carvin has been my main stay for years. Since they are no longer supplying new products I thought I would try a pair of Rockville SPG88 8ohm. I need them for monitors but wouldn’t hesitate to use them as mains a smaller gig. After taking a peek inside I found them to be well constructed. A quick audition gave me a big smile. They are going to take the stage for a gig this weekend. Small size. big sound. Handles on both sides are nice. Dont worry about the 400 watts, means nothing. Give them clean power and enjoy. Will be buying more in the future. The LED light is very cool, lets me know the connections are good. I am recommending these Rockville SPG88. Like or love they are worth every penny. 8ohms let me daisy chain them to 4ohms. Wish they made a 16ohm version.

Excellent product for the money– Rockville is making an excellent name for itself
I used these recently with a powerful PA amplified mixer and they rock! I own a larger set of Rockvilles. They kick for the money. They are well packed for shipping, well made, and the instructions are written in American English! When hooked up to my powered mixer, these two little guys get very loud! Amazing for the cost.I highly recommend Rockville products. I used to buy Behringer, which is fantastic for the money, but I’m switching to Rockville. i don’t know who they are but they’re doing everything right for me at almost half the price of everyone else. Don’t let the name or price fool you. I’m a retired pro musician, and these are pro level speakers.

Lightweight is important to me.
This is a lightweight, great sounding speaker. Speakon connections are not the standard in my industry, but with a small adapter are easy to use.I would like to find a carry case or bag for the speaker just to protect it.
DMACKD –
So disappointed
I was so excited about these speakers until I got them and noticed they had a special type of input and output connector called speakon. Why in the world would they equip these speakers with those type of connectors knowing they are not the common industry standard type which are XLR or TRS style connector. C’mon Rockville why would you do that..

Great speaker
Excellent sound quality works great

Just got these to replace a nice set of Klipsch SB-2 bookshelf speakers in the family workshop, which gets very dusty after serious sanding or using the router on MDF. They are more than adequate to deliver very high volumes in the 20×32 ft. shop, and will spare my Klipsch’s the indignity of all that dust (not to mention the cold in the winter, as the shop is only heated when the wood stove is fired-up). I like the blue LED which lights-up when music is playing, and flashes with the bass beat. Together with the 18″ Rockville sub in the homemade cabinet, they pump out massive bass and are surprisingly good in the treble too – those titanium compression dome tweeters are very similar to the ones Klipsch uses in its Reference Premiere line. You really can’t go wrong with the Rockville speaker line, whether its a raw driver or finished DJ/PA speakers or studio monitors, and they are all reasonably priced for the quality construction and durability they deliver.

One of the two speakers showed up and would clunk anytime it was moved ,, as a sound tech I opened the inspection cover to have a look ,,To my amazement ,, the tweeter driver wasnât even threaded into place ..after rebuilding the speaker and routing the cables properly .. everything sounded good
