Constant Problems and Terrible Support
I started having problems with this device almost immediately. Text would appear garbled, and the device would frequently crash. I tried to trouble shoot it myself for a while, and eventually tried contacting Roku support, who walked me through the usual system resets, etc. It worked fine for another month or so, but then suddenly started dropping out audio and refused to connect with my Roku wireless speakers. Spent another week trying everything from resets to changing my wifi setup to changing my room setup. Support finally issued an RMA, but under the condition that I return the device first and pay for the shipping costs. I should have just returned it through Amazon when problems started initially. I’ve used Roku products for years, and while they have always had some issues, at least support used to be ok. I’m now planning to transition my entire ecosystem to something else.

Love my Roku device
This is my third Roku with sound bar and hubby and I both love it. We have our First units for almost 5 years and not one problem.The trick is to learn how to fully use your remote and/or online remote for best use with streaming. Do not be afraid of trying new buttons and experiencing the full abilities offered from Roku. Always look for specials on streaming channels and update your account.Never with cable did we both enjoy television as we do now.Purchased this one as a gift for the holidays. I am sure it will be enjoyed.

Sound good, quirky sync
The sound is satisfactory. The problem I have is it will turn on the TV when I turn off the TV with my universal remote. It works great tuning into the Roku homepage, goes right to the correct HDMI input. When I use my universal remote to turn on the DirecTV, sometimes I have to switch the HDMI input manually.I have found that this only works as a standalone input. Any cable box or satellite box and this becomes a multi input multi remote nightmare.

Very happy with this purchase. With a âdumbâ TV, the combination of a sound bar with a streaming service was ideal. Though the unit is small, the sound quality is excellent, and provides a variety of options that enhance the sound based on your needs. Roku is super easy to navigate and to access your favourite apps. Voice commands make interaction easy. The unit is small but mighty, and would recommend for simple set ups that require good sound and easy streaming – all at a very affordable price.

The sound quality is clear improvement over TV sound. With the new ‘cinema sound’ firmware update upon installation, sound quality undergoes a clear upgrade. Kept these because they deliver a good mix of sound and convenience–both in size and device control (sort of). Comparing to a Bose Soundbar II and a 150W Meredo Soundbar for TV. Bose sound quality is superior–but does not have ARC. Meredo is louder, has ARC, but poorer sound quality.Swapped stereo receiver plus Dolby 5.1 setup from master bedroom and Bose Companion 5 PC sound from Guest bedroom for two these with no net loss. HUGE gains in complexity and wiring in one room, and easier standalone TV command without any need for ‘PC controls’ in other. 5.1 was too much for bedroom. Streambar is a much better fit. Companion 5 sound had an edge in bass because of sub-woofer but otherwise comparable sound capability.Big issue is the remote compatibility challenge among Roku devices. Streambar needs to be set up with its own remote to trigger software update and device registration in my Roku account–allows for phone-based control of Roku devices. HiSense Roku TV remote would not do that. Also, Streambar remote does not offer the same TV control of HiSense TV as its own remote. Roku and its partners have some work to do there.At the end of the day, having one remote that (mostly) does it all is a winner!
