Great solution
Rookie working on stick control. This is a solution for quiet drills. I can place this on my lap or a table top. I’m currently using my gum rubber pad to prop it up and give it some grip on the table top because it does “drift” a bit but that may be caused by my poor technique. Note, there is sound coming from this, but it’s a very low thud sound and decibels change depending on what surface I place it on. I got the 14 inch and as a beginner I can say the included head is good, but I don’t know anything. I found out that I can easily swap out the head with something different (maybe better). The Remo SilentStroke head will be my next test. One last thing….a lot of reviews mentioned a buzz from the metal bands under the head. Yep, there is an occasional buzz. I fixed it without tools or messing with the tension. I flipped it over and carefully pressed on the lower band allowing me to slide a folded toilet paper between the two bands and it removed the buzz. See image. Hope this helps. Good luck!

It feels great to play on.It’s quiet and the ability to tune down is excellent.You hear a little more tone when you tune it up.Don’t tight too much the bottom metal might bend.I really like the way it feels and sounds.When is tune down it’s softer and quieter.Excellent product, thank you.A drum set like this would be ideal.Highly recommend ð¥

Almost perfect. EXCELLENT quiet practice âpadâ that has adjustable tension/rebound.
Why ALMOST perfect? The metal bars that go across the bottom make a little annoying noise sometimes. I put a few little pieces of one side of a stick-on Velcro strip (the softer side). This made the noise go away. You could tuck a piece of fabric or whatever. Itâs really not a big even if you just use them as is, itâs a minor thing.Other than that this would easily be 5 stars. And the price (at least when I bought) is the cheapest I have ever seen on them. I am going to order the 10â version as well. This is my new go to pad while the wife and I are watching TV. She says she can hear it but it isnât loud. Rebound is adjustable but out of the box, I found it to be perfect. Nice rebound, feels pretty natural. I mean itâs a mech head on a hoop with a frame. So it sounds and feels like a mesh drum head if you ever played one.

Feels a little awkward
This is an okay, very quiet pad, but I’m not a fan of the feel of the mesh head. It can be a little awkward to play on especially if you’re trying to do basic stick tricks. My sticks have slipped several times just trying to do some back sticking. That said, it might feel better to play on with with an actual drum head.

Very good as a timpani practice pad
I do play snare drum, but I bought this as a way of practicing timpani pieces. The mesh skin super quiet, but does have an overall tone that’s adjustable through the lugs. If you loosen them enough, you get an almost identical feel to a even a full-size 32″ timpani. I have two, since to practice cross sticking, but you could easily use 3 + 1 10″ pad to simulate a full set of 4.This said, I wouldn’t use this as a snare drum pad, unless you raised the tension a bunch. Also, I’ve found that the pad doesn’t stay in place very well on flat surface; it tends to jump around. Place it on a same-sized snare drum, or a pillow.

Excellent product!!Great feel, great tuning range, well made practice pad.Multiple options for mounting either on a snare drum head or cradle of a snare stand, or if you use a worktop surface then itâll be well protected with by the rubber protectors on the bottom of the pad frame.Great buzz roll response very realistic feel to a coated head when rolling so keeps things accurate.I already own a 10 inch version of the this product but with the real drum head which is why I gave this one a try.Very happyðð

Pad molto utile e fedele ad una pelle normale soprattutto per il fatto che si può tirare più o meno la mesh e quindi avere la tensione che si vuole.. si alloggia come un normale tamburo sul reggi rullante ed è molto più silenzioso di altri pad che ho provato.. consegna nei tempi previsti.. consiglio lâacquisto

I am very impressed by this as I can just sit and look at TV and practice my weak hand exercises. Has a better feel than rubber and feels more like the real thing as it has better bounce.I bought an extra cheapo stand for it.

This has got to be the quietest drum pad ever. I can actually practice with my wife in the room and it doesn’t bother her! I tightened up the head considerably from the way it came shipped so it more closely matches the rebound of my snare drum. The rubber feet on it don’t provide much cushioning, so when I put it on top of the drum I first put a neoprene pad over the drum head. I’m very pleased that I got this, it’s making it possible for me to work on my technique without bothering anyone else.
