Really Good Sound
I must say first off, I bought this for my projector and tv and was not really impressed with the sound especially the voice enhancement feature or the bass. I used the small manual they send with it, and it really doesn’t tell you much about the soundbar just basically how to set it up and what the buttons do but no info other than that and I was very discouraged and then I downloaded the online full manual and man what a difference that made. The online manual shows you what all and how to make more adjustments than you can imagine and after I did them it sounds like a totally different soundbar. For you that don’t know it has a small equalizer, but it only works in standard mode, and it really increases voice enhancements and overall sound in standard mode. This Samsung HW-S60B sound bar is much better than the Bose TV Soundbar I had before I purchased this one and never was satisfied with the sound of the unit and it had very few adjustments and voice enhancements wasn’t that good to me and then it just stopped working 27 days after purchase, so I returned it and very glad it did because this one is much better to me. I have always loved Boss products but seems like they have really cut back on what got them to where they are, Quality. Not sure about the low reviews but just maybe some have not downloaded the full manual and don’t realize all the different adjustments that you can make to your liking on this bar.You will not get the thumping bass out of this soundbar as you will not out of any especially in this price range without adding a subwoofer, but the bass is really good much better that a tv for a small soundbar, and the volume is rated at 120 watts and is very clear no matter how loud you play it.The remote works very good and feels of quality as any Samsung product I have from them. It also has control buttons on the unit if the remote goes out for some reason, the Boss didn’t have any other way to control it.Yes, I am much happier with this Samsung soundbar, it really surprised me, but I don’t know why because Samsung has really become a leader in innovation and quality. Now I must tell you the only subwoofer it will connect to is a Samsung subwoofer SWA-W510 per Bluetooth and it is small and around $300.00. But I also have a sound system with a subwoofer and this bar pairs very well with my system making a huge difference in its all around sound.

Using it happily
It delivers on the expectation of function and quality. Works well with my compatible tv. Setup was easy and the sound is a noticeable improvement over the tv alone. Enjoying it in our medium size room.

Perfect for a small room where volume/bass isn’t the priority
The S60D works fine on non-Samsung TV’s, eARC didn’t have any trouble with an LG C3 and the sync is fine. My intended use for this is a small bedroom TV, where I wanted better dialog clarity, not more volume. The “adaptive” sound setting seems quite good so I just leave it on that. All audio enhancements I leave off, but the “night mode” setting is effective at knocking down the bass that would generate some noise through an interior wall. Considering the low price, dedicated center channel, and overall audio quality, I’m happy with it.There’s not a lot of bass or left/right separation, just due to the small physical dimensions of the product, but for me these are essentially pros, not cons. The one complaint I do have is there’s no numerical indicator for the settings, so you can adjust volume, treble/bass, channel levels, and there’s a little strip of led lights in the grill that do left/right patterns to show the direction, but you have no idea what you’re adjusting them to, just up or down. Maybe the app provides this functionality, but I’m just using the remote.

Absolutely Perfect blend of vocal emphasis, rich tonality, and rich movie sound!
Was skeptical at first, but now I’m convinced that this is almost a must-have accesory for the 43inch TV that despite all the technology, it has only 2 real speakers, and the other 2 are virtual or wave-guide at the top of the cabinet . The sound of my new Samsung 2024 43″ Neo QED was a little thin in the mids and highs, almost to the point of strident at times. The larger Samsung TVs in the series have 8 speakers. So I bought 2 apple mini HomePods, connected to my apple TV 4K, and a heard big improvement in tonality, lows, mids and highs. A forum reviewer I read said this set-up gets you 80% of what a soundbar gives you at this price point. So I hesitated to buy the soundbar after already purchasing the mini-home pods. While the HomePod’s sound was richer over the native TV speakers, voice clarity, tonality and separation from the other sounds, music and bass, was still making dialogue hard to understand, at times, forcing me to turn -up the volume, to attempt to hear the dialogue better. This increased volume overemphasized the bass, even with “less bass” selected in the HomePod settings.Bring on the Q-symphony S-series sound bar. the sound is not like a large home theater set-up, but the sound is still quite a revelation! Vocal sounds are clear and with good tonality, and exceptionally clear. And then movie sounds come in with nice separation and emphasis, across the frequency spectrum in a very 3-dimensional manner, similar to how a home theatre setup would render the sound, but with a little less drama.NOTES on Set-up of the Samsung Soundbar when connecting to the newer Samsung TV: I originally set the soundbar up over wifi, but then it would not turn on automatically with my apple TV. I found out auto-on of the soundbar with the TV, is only when connected either optically or via HDMI. I redid the connection over “HDMI out to e-arc in on the TV.” Now the Soundbar turns on with the TV. I installed the soundbar with the Samsung “My Home Smart Things App” (easy), and then in the TV audio settings I have Q-Symphony set-up to use both the sound bar and TV speakers in synch. Also I have adaptive sound selected or turned on which allows Samsung’s AI, to tailor the frequency response and synchronization of all speakers, to the content being played to maintain a balanced sound appropriate to the media genre. Over 1/2 of our listening to the TV in the kitchen is news programing, and the addition of the soundbar is a game changer with our wonderful, Samsung 43″ QN90D Neo QLED 4K TV 2024. Picture shows the Soundbar directly below and in front of the TV on a corner shelf.
