Mom Of 94 Loves It
Bought for my mother who is 94 years old. She just recently moved into assisted living and had issues with sound volume from tv. Moving the sound to near where she would sit did the trick. A simple knob for volume was a snap for her. She was extremely happy with it. Easy as pie to set up. Would definitely recommend for portable listening. I was disappointed at first when I tried at home on my Samsung tv. I got no sound at all. Tried it on my Toshiba and it worked great. I checked my settings on the Samsung and had to manually allow the port to be active. At that point the speaker worked fine. If yours doesn’t, check the TV’s settings for the port you are using. It may be that the TV doesn’t automatically activate that port.

Bought this for my elderly mother who has hearing problems. When not wearing her hearing aids, she normally would have the TV volume at the upper limits of the volume control. At night when watching TV in her bed, the volume from her bedroom was almost intolerable to others. With this unit she simply places the speaker system on her nightstand and directed in the direction of her pillows. As the unit produces superior audible sound than the normal TV speakers, plus having the speakers in close proximity to her. There is no need for the volume to be raised to anywhere close as to what was required from the standard TV. Great product. I would recommend that if you are going to be placing this in a set / stationary location as my mother’s nightstand, that you also get the additional power supply cord, which eliminates the need to return the speaker unit to the home base for charging. With that said, prior to using the separate power supply we did find the battery longevity longer than what is described with the product description.

I bought my first speaker for my husband, who is hearing impaired, to keep the volume on the TV at a lower level. I bought a second speaker recently for my mother who was having problems hearing the TV from her favorite chair. It is easy for her to operate and she is enjoying the TV more.

Works well and received great customer support
I bought this product for my dad for Christmas because my mom would complain about him having the TV to loud. Dad is in his 80’s and is getting hard of hearing in one ear. Initially I set this product up and couldn’t get it to work. I began troubleshooting the problem and found that the optical cable was flaky. Unfortunately, the optical cable was the only way to connect to my parents TV. So I went to the company’s website and started a chat session. They were very responsive and gave me the option of exchanging the whole thing or having an optical cable sent out for free, if I emailed them a copy of the order. I chose the latter. The system works well with decent sound but don’t expect high fidelity. Note that it is only PCM compatible. It also allows the use of headphones if desired. The great thing about this system is the remote speaker also comes with a power supply. This means you can leave it plugged in remotely and not have to return it to the base for charging. A definite plus! If you need customer support I suggest using the chat line. Although this was a Christmas gift for my dad, my mom feels like she got a gift as well, since the TV doesn’t have to be turned up real loud anymore.

If I could get it to work maybe I could rate it. This was a bad time for you to ask me for a review. Of course my set up was #4 but I finally got it. Charged it overnight. Now the receiver is sitting on my coffee table doing nothing. I am hot, frustrated, and annoyed. I’m 77 and had to read everything wearing 2 pairs of glasses. Really? This is a product made predominantly for “seniors” who are more prone to hearing loss.Guess what? We don’t see that well either. +++ CORRECTED REVIEW+++. I knew from what I had read that I still had to do something with the tv setting to get this speaker to work. I had my daughter do it. The speaker works and it is loud enough that I can hear it well. I only gave it four stars because the blue light that encircles the knob stays lit when the speaker is on and it is very annoying. I will have to cover it. without covering the speaker. It’s also going to take some time to get used to the sound being so close. But I think it’s going to work out fine. So I would recommend it.

Have had it up for a couple of months and use it every day. Works fine, Sound from the speaker is OK. I have it plugged into a specific AC outlet rather than using the charging unit and then moving the main unit to where I want it. It stays next to where I sit to watch TV. I love that I can reach over and shut off the commercials quicker than using the TV remote mute . So I cant tell you how long it takes to recharge it. I bought it mainly because I am hard of hearing and got tired of being told to turn the tv down. charger and then an end table next to where I sit to watch TV.. My wife now asks me to turn it up rather than telling me to turn the tv volume down. Yay! IWhen I switch over to watch a Netflix movie it does not work. There is no sound from the speaker. I have to use the TV remote.and TV speaker to watch Netflix or Amazon movies

My 91year old mom loves it.
My 91 year old mother needs hearing aids. Period. Refused to purchase them as. She sees them too expensive. ( She can afford them) I got this for her. Reading all the reviews I thought I would have to purchase additional equipment. Not so. I had everything I needed in the box. The sound quality is much better then her flat screen. And the large volume knob is great. We all (family check on her daily) she doesn’t have to fuss with the remote volume for the TV to answer the phone. She is so happy. Says she can put the TV on mute and her speaker works great. My brother and sisters all are thankful I got this. For her. Her tv was on MAX. now, all is good. We keep the charger/ sending unit attached to the TV and the speaker plugged into the wall on her end table. So it stays charged. Everything was included. She could unplug it and walk out onto the patio or kitchen. But she just leaves it plugged in. I read reviews on many of these. Most about 30% less expensive. I will say. I give this five solid stars. My mom deserves only the best.
