Well made
I actually ended up returning these because of my mistake – they are a three prong and I needed a two prong… BUT I was impressed with how well they were made. They were sturdy and well made. If it would have been that they were the three prong instead of two I would have loved to have kept them.

Excellent Smart Plugs
I have and have had many, many smart plugs. I was an early adopter of smart home technology and I’ve tried a variety of plug brands, shapes (round, rectangular, oblong), and types (WiFi, Bluetooth, Z-wave, Zigbee). Simplicity is one of the main characteristics I look for in a smart plug. Let’s see this how this one stacks up against others I’ve had:1.) Quality – Seems fine out of the box.2.) Size – Round ones frequently are too big and overlap the second receptacle on a standard outlet. Not this one. It is round, but small enough so a garden-variety 120V plug will fit in the other receptacle.3.) Pairing – Immediate. Shortly after plugging the device in, the Alexa app in my phone prompts me via push notification to set up the new Matter smart plug.4.) App – Here’s the beauty of Matter; no additional app is required. Plug one of these devices in and a Matter hub will prompt you to pair it up. I also have a Smartthings hub, so my Alexas and the SS hub were fighting over it.5.) Setup – Couldn’t be easier going through the Alexa app. Just follow the instructions and it will be ready for duty. These are a tremendous value at around $5/ea. If you’re looking for hassle-free smart plugs, these are it… well, as long as you have a Matter hub.

Quick and easy to setup
I used to have a set of Gosund wifi plugs that I really liked, but some of which had died, so I got these to replace them. These ones are much easier to setup, having a little QR code on top that connects them almost automatically. They seem to work consistently and I haven’t had any issues. They linked up nicely with my Alexa, too.

Smaller size
The main reason I chose to test this product was its Matter compatibility. Since I use Home Assistant, I prefer avoiding third-party apps or cloud connections, and Matter is my go-to protocol for a seamless smart home setup. On the positive side, it is Matter-compatible, but I had mixed experiences connecting it to Home Assistant. The first unit was somewhat challenging to connect but eventually worked. The second unit took even more effort but finally connected. While it wasn’t as smooth as other Matter devices I’ve used, it did function in the end.The product is compact, allowing me to use it alongside another standard plug on the same socket. The build quality is solid, and the indicator light is helpful for quickly identifying its on/off state. Overall, it’s a decent choice for Matter users despite the initial setup hiccups.

Responsive, and easy
This was super easy to integrate into my Home automation system – Home Assistant. I’m using the official Matter server add-on, and it works super easy. Plug it in, Scan the QR code, and wait a few seconds.Indicator/locator light is nice and bright. Key feature for me with this stuff is power restore – like what happens after a power outage. I always ensure that’s set to “previous” so that you don’t have things turn on after a power outage. Believe it or not – there are devices that don’t let you pick the state. This responds fast to commands and is overall nice. The only down side is that due to the size/shape, you are hard pressed to get anything else on the outlet when this is plugged in. You can probably plug in a two prong lamp. Not no other power cords.

Pairs up quickly and easily – works with Home Assistant and HomeKit
Matter is the new kid on the block. I have a mix of WiFi (Tapo, Kasa, Tuya), ZWave, and closed-system devices. Iâve only recently added Matter to the mix. I use Home Assistant to bring everything together and port it all through HomeKit to enable easy control for me and my partner. These plugs paired up easily without fuss. Matter can directly integrate with Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home, and I had no issues adopting it in my Home Assistant setup.Just be aware that these have a relatively low max Amp/Volt ceiling at 10A/1250W – DO NOT run a heater or other high draw appliance though these plugs.Overall, Iâm happy with these plugs – I use them to control lamps and interior Christmas lights without issue.
