Don’t Buy Renewed!
I’ve had good luck in the past especially when the item is sold by: Amazon.com Services LLC. This was not the case. When I first opened the sensor cap to examine it, there was a string of cloth inside which was already a bad sign. upon viewing it with a light, the sensor is not in good condition at all. It looks like someone changed out body parts to make the camera look newer because the exterior was immaculate but sensor was not and its clear someone was working on it. This has caused a loss of not only time with amazon but multiple client sessions I had booked that needed two cameras. No additional help beyond returning it was given which they said wasn’t even guarantied claiming it was a 3rd party seller even though the invoice stated it was amazon and supposed to be under the “renewed” program. I now do not recommend this “Renewed” program either because the customer service rep said it was a 3rd party seller even though my invoice states its Amazon.com Services LLC. Yet again, do no recommend unless you’re trying to have a headache and wasted time with no help beyond what’s expected.Update 11/12/2022Amazon is now telling me it will take 30 days to process the return and linger for the refund. This is obviously jamming up client sessions and having to continue to rent gear. Customer service is non existent, but from B & H, Adorama, or your local store because the renewed program is terrible.

Shady “Renewed” Resellers
The one thing I learned from this purchase: don’t buy electronics from Amazon. I ordered this “renewed” Sony A7siii, and when I went to run the recent 4k DCI update, I found that my camera has a 6 digit serial number instead of the 7 digit number needed to get a license for the update. The reseller told me that because I’m outside of their return policy there’s nothing they can do to help me and to contact Sony, Sony told me that because the camera didn’t come from the US Market there’s nothing they can do to help, so now I’m stuck with a camera that will never be able to utilize it’s 4k DCI capability simply because I chose to buy through sketchy Amazon.

Do not get this camera renewed
After 3 weeks of waiting I finally received the camera to find out it doesnât even want to turn on. I tried three different Sony batteries fully charged and got nothing but a blinking red light for 12 seconds and thatâs about it. Once I returned it I was told by Amazon it will basically take 6 weeks to finally get my money back.

This item corrupted 4 of my memory cards.. Lost my valuable data and also wasted 600$ which I spent on SD Professional memory cards
