Fantastic!
This is a fantastic blue ray player. I did alot of research on what to get before deciding on this one.Sony has always been a good to brand for me.This blue ray player is very smooth, compact, easy to use, and has great add on features. It pairs great with my Sony TV.

Sony makes great stuff
Sony players are great, and the remotes and software are consistent. This bd/DVD player is surprisingly small, but it packs a punch. I like that is has a network jack as well as WiFi. It came with an HDMI cable, which ooks like maybe 3ft long. The remote is small and it works with my Sony TV. This player has YouTube and Netflix apps, which I probably won’t use, but makes it handy to consolidate things into one product. The bluray and DVD upscaling quality are great and loading and menu speeds are good. Would definitely buy this again.

Does not accept prime video
Liked the idea that you could have everything go through the player, including YouTube and Netflix. Was disappointed that you do not have the option to add prime video app, which is the primary streaming app that we use.

Small footprint. Works great as Blu Ray. Can’t comment on Apps.
I have a smart TV, so I didn’t need a device to stream. We moved the XBox up to my son’s room, and just needed something to play physical disks. This seems to be great. I was surprised by how small it is. About the size of a cigar box. Works with the remote control from my Samsung TV, without any programming.I did put an old DVD of The Big Lebowski in to see how the up-sampling works, and the video quality is passable but not awesome. It’s hard to remember how incredible DVDs looked on an old-school SD TV. Not so much on a 4K TV. I’m spoiled in that way. The sound is still great with my Samsung sound bar. The Goodfellas Blu ray looks perfect.Happy with this. No complaints. And a Sony at the same price as a no-name Walmart special can’t be scoffed at. Would buy again.

Sony BDP-BX370 – Does Not Last
I bought two of these Blu-Ray players back in August of 2023. One gets used almost daily; the other about once a week. The one I used daily suddenly stopped working after only 16 months of use. I was watching a DVD and paused it briefly. When I returned to resume the show, I got an onscreen (error) message saying the disc could not be played. The message suggested that I clean the disc or that it is not the correct format to play in this unit. Neither of those suggestions was correct, as I had watched this disc multiple times before in this player with no issues. So I unplugged the unit, waited a few minutes, then plugged it back and also tried using multiple different DVDs (both standard and Blu-Ray), along with updating the player software. However, I got the same results. The disc would not load and the error message popped up again saying the disc could not be played (either it was dirty, not the correct format, or not properly formatted at all).I’m not a software engineer, but this problem sounds like an operating system issue to me. I could not find a way to reset the player, other than resetting it back to factory settings, which I did, but to no avail. And even though I tired to update the player software, the unit said I already had the latest software version installed.Since this is just a DVD/Blu-Ray player and nothing else, it is now only suitable for electronics recycling. I specifically bought the Sony brand based on past experience (I had one Sony DVD player that lasted over 20 years without any problems). But based on this experience, I no longer trust the Sony brand. In summary, when this unit played, it worked fine. But when out of the blue it decided to stop working, it was a permanent decision.Based on my experience, I would not recommend this unit or the Sony brand in general to anyone. I guess the best consumer philosophy to apply these days is to forget about buying a more expensive top brand item; just buy the cheapest one and plan on throwing it out after a few months.

Good price and easy setup.

Nice basic player
Plays what we have without any fuss. That Includes old ripped copies of dvds. If we play 20 movies with it, it will pay for itself over renting/streaming. Our older kids have already enjoyed âold schoolâ ans âsnatchâ with us. In a nice surprise, our Amazon tv remote seems to work with it too despite the player being behind a wall. Additionally, when the unit is off, and you open it and insert a disk, the tv turns on and switches to the player input. I really couldnât ask for more.

Didnât work at all. Stuck on blue ray screen. Totally unresponsive for both remote and device. They refunded without question. Now I still need one that works, so a huge waste of time.

As the title says, this Sony player (BDPBX370) only plays Region A Blurays and Region 1 DVDs, ie, discs for the North American market. It will NOT play region B Blurays or region 2 DVDs which are meant for the UK & Europe. However I have a collection of R1 DVDs so was looking for a player to do this, so this fits the bill. Some reviews have mentioned it also coming with a power supply for North America, however mine came with a power supply for UK/Ireland sockets which suited me fine. The player needs a 12 volt DC supply, so if you want this player itâs easy enough to pick up a power supply for UK/Ireland/European sockets. Overall Iâm happy with this player as it does what I need, which is play North American discs.
