Very good!
I bought these to replace my old Sony MDR-ZX770BN headphones, which finally bit the dust after many years of heavy use. Boy, has Sony’s NC come a long way! The NC is fantastic, and the comfort is also vastly improved. Battery life seems fine so far, and phone call quality is very good. Controls (mostly via swiping) are intuitive and effective. Only time will tell how durable they are (my old MDRs were bombproof!) but in terms of function and comfort these are making me very happy.Admittedly, they’re on the spendy side, but Prime Day…

Unrivaled Sound in a Sleek Package!
I’ve had the pleasure of immersing myself in the music with the Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Canceling Over-Ear Headphones, and it’s been an exceptional journey. The sound quality is nothing short of exquisite, and the noise cancellation technology is the most effective I’ve experienced. Coupled with the sleek design and comfortable fit, it’s hard to imagine a more complete package.Pros:Outstanding sound quality: The audio profile is rich and detailed, allowing you to hear every nuance of your favorite tracks.Superior noise cancellation: The outside world truly fades away when you put these headphones on, perfect for focus or relaxation.Comfort: Even after hours of use, these headphones remain comfortable, thanks to the soft padding and adjustable headband.Cons:Price: These headphones are a bit on the pricey side, but given the premium features and quality, they’re worth every penny.Weight: They’re slightly heavier than some competing models, but this is a small trade-off for the superior sound and noise cancellation. In conclusion, the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones offer an unparalleled listening experience. They’re a worthy investment for any music lover or frequent traveler who values excellent sound and effective noise cancellation. Highly recommended!

Good sound quality and Build
It has amazing sound quality, I have this and AirPod pros but would pick the XM5âs any day based on sound quality. Pairs well with the app and has tons of cool and unique features. It is very lightweight, but it still seems to hurt the top of my head after using it for a while. I definitely think itâs worth the money especially when paired with power bank which works really well and I love the wireless function it had!

FIne headphones
I listen to them mainly for classical music. They sound great. Nice placement of instruments in sound stage, and I can really hear the subtilty of each instrument. I found for classical it is best if I listen to them in medium volume to really get the best experience. Too loud overshadows the subtilty of the instrument timbres. Also, the software equalizer really lets me adjust the sound to my liking. It also has a separate Clear Bass setting just to adjust the bass from -10 to +10 for fine tuning the bass. This is good for classical music where I normally need a flat frequency response across the board, but just need to fine tune the bass volume so it is not too much. I had trouble with the Alexa hands free. The Sony Headphone app will only respond to the Alexa name. I had been using one of the alternate Alexa names, Echo, so my headphones would not respond to Echo. Once I started using the name Alexa, it worked. However, I was disappointed that I could not stream music from my Alexa to my headphones. The stream would work for about 2 minutes and keep stopping. The noise cancellation is great. I love it when the air conditioning turns on and the noise of the air handler and refrigerator etc., disappears. Overall, very well pleased with these headphones.

Good – solid buy
Been using it for over six months now. Very good buy, would recommend. It is better than my Bose quiet comfort at noise cancellation.Four stars as i use it when i go to the gym ⦠not great with sweat. Also had to disable touch features as these would get triggered accidentally

Noise cancelling is life.
So these just came in the mail about an hour ago. Nothing opened or refurbished. The power bank came as well and is charging. I couldn’t get the wireless charging to work on it yet but I didn’t really play with it yet, doesn’t matter. I was minding my own business playing Xbox and testing the sound quality of these which is fantastic, and then my fiance and sister in-law came in. They’re loud AF. Then they decided to steam clean her car seat. I said hmmm, let’s see how good these really are. Y’all, with the volume at probably 60%, 95% of they’re noise was blocked out. I could bearly hear them. So if you’re on the fence about these, pull the trigger. They’re awesome.*Update*. Wireless charging feature on power bank works fine, my phone doesn’t support that feature. Tested fiance’s I phone and had no issue.

Unrepairable
I owned my XM5 for slightly more than a year and enjoyed them. One day, I picked them up and sound had stopped coming from the right ear piece. After troubleshooting, Sony’s service told me to contact a service to have the headphones repaired. On contacting the service, I was told that parts weren’t made available to repair this product and so Sony’s own recommended service provider didn’t do repairs since it would basically involve them buying a whole new XM5. Good headphone, but not nearly worth needing to drop $400 every 15 months.

The XM4 is actually far better overall than the XM5, do not recommend.
I have been using the XM4 for the past 4 years and thought, I might buy the XM5 as an upgrade and see if they might be better. Some of the reviews and write ups on them say they are better. This is NOT the case. The ear pieces are less comfortable and they decided to use pleather instead of the cloth that the XM4s have. This will lead to sweating, peeling and pieces falling off and overall just a POOR quality of product. If you want a good quality product and like Sony, get the XM4 instead!
